Just a musing as I seem to be the first one up at the yard every day and everyone else seems to think that it's acceptable to get there after 10am! They then put their horses to bed about 4pm !( DIY yard)
I admit I do go a little later at the weekends but never later than 9am!
What's everyone else's routine?

9 to 9.30 and then she stands with me eating her haylage net while I muck out, because we like it. She's out by 10 and back in by 5.30 at the latest but usually in at 5 as I work in a pub.

When I was on DIY, I was on the yard by 5.30am weekdays, and back by 5pm to ride then put to bed at about 7pm.

Weekends I was there by 9.30am and would go back between 4.30-5.30pm for evening stables.

I do mine at 10am but they live out with ad lib hay. Thay are looked over by hubby as he passes in the early hours. I go back in the evening for checks.

When stabled, 8am and 4pm - basically trying to follow daylight hours.

Whe out 24/7 as and when, as they will have grass to keep them occupied.

Weekdays they go out between 6 and 7.30 - we have a rota so it depends on people's routines. Weekends I'm usually up at the yard by 8 and am usually first up except for one girl who works saturdays so is up earlier that day. I can't lie in bed knowing the'yre waiting to go out, especially as one doesn't like to wee in his stable so can be a bit frantic by then! No horse is in much past 8.45 on our yard at weekends and 7.30 in the week. If we're expecting to need a lie in after a big night out we arange for a favour from one of the other liveries.

I normally ride straight from the stable and then turn them out so they're in the field for the day by about 10am. They come in at about 6.30pm and they're usually the last two out but not by much, maybe 1/2 an hour.

I have my horses at home. On days when I am working from home they go out about 8.00 and come in before it gets dark. On days when I have to go to the London office they go out about 6.30 and a friend gets them in before it gets dark.

At weekends they tend to go out about 8.00

Out between 6.30 and 8.30 am. In between 3.30 to 4.30 pm before it gets dark basically. When I'm at work, I pay a lady to bring in. If I'm off and the weather is vile I may bring in earlier ( they had to come in early over Christmas if we were out for the afternoon).

It's not the last time they're seen tho - they're at home so they have dinner between 6.30 and 8pm and final check between 9.30- 10pm ( will top up hay and occasioanlly water if necessary, scoop poop). Breakfast is between 6 -8 am. Muck out, haynets and water, dinner and next day breakfast all done before I go to work so stables ready for horse to come back in.

They will stay out longer in the summer depending on weight, flies etc

That's nothing, I'm currently trying to drum it into someone that turning up every 24hrs to a fully stabled horse is not acceptable. Apparently I am 'bang out of order' suggesting it's unacceptable.

Mines currently in at the minute, I usually start at 8am in the winter and feed and muck out eight for half nine. She's on adlib hay so munches away all day and gets turned out a couple of times into the arena for a stretch of legs then evening muckout/dinner is done by 7.30pm. Easier for me though as its at home :)

5.30 am on work days, bit later 7 am ish on weekends fed, turned out, mucked out etc.. Winter I bring them in from 1 - 4 pm depending on weather. Will be given buckets at 4.30pm ish. Then checked again late evening, skipped out, hay topped up. Summer time, they are left out longer as long as not getting too fat:)

Some people really shouldn't be allowed near horses, or indeed any animals...! What an utter twit.. for want of a better word..

Yard owner turns out for everyone so they go out about 7.30/8am and I'm there by 5pm to muck out :)

At my last yard some people didn't rock up til after 11am on weekends to turn out, felt so awful for the poor horses!!

Mine are at home so go out between 8:30 and 9am - the benefit of that routine being I can stick to it all week long and don't have to adapt it at the weekends. They are in before its dark usually as they tend to get a bit silly otherwise.

They do get loads hay though - large nets when they come in and again at about 10pm - benefit of them being on my doorstep is that I never worry about them starving overnight!

I'm very lucky to be on full livery, so mine is turned out by the yard between 7.45 and 8.30 and brought in around 4 (in winter - in summer they go out at 2pm and stay out overnight, brought in at 8am the next morning). I tend to go up in the afternoon to ride and often time it so I bring him in.

between 4.30 - 5pm

My yard does morning & lunch feeds and checks on them (and turnout if wanted) so I just have to do mucking out etc when I arrive and make sure all feeds and nets are made up and left for him.

over summer he's out pretty much 24/7

Mine live out, so I aim for at least before 10am and after 2pm for feeding, topping up the adlib hay in feeders and checking.

But depends who is doing it, I am normally there in the week by 6.30am, and after work about 5.45-6.45pm.

Weekends are rarely after 9am. Often a lot earlier if competing / training.

My sharers have different timetables, and aim to take best advantage of the daylight.

The stabled horses at my yard, the first person on the yard feeds all 20 odd. So if not up to turn out first thing, people tend to leave a big trug of hay with the breakfast to throw over the door. Works okay, though I have occasionally turned up at 9am on the weekend, and been the first person there!

Whenever I get there. My routine is that I don't have one.

Usually between 7 and 8 am, when I have rolled out of bed and had a coffee.

It helps that they are right outside my window :)

Mine live out, just come in if I want to ride, I don't have a routine as such as I find they stand by the gate or fence walk waiting for breakfast/tea! So I vary between 7.30am - 8am ish, then go check them and poo pick between 3pm and 5pm

I go to the yard about 8.30 to turn out and muck out. Most of us are there at the same time, a couple come earlier as they start work earlier
In an afternoon, everyone else has been and gone by 5pm whereas I tend to bring in between 5.30 and 7pm. They come to the gate when I call so I'm not worried about daylight hours

lucky to have them at home, so go out 6.30 am weekdays and in by 3pm.

weekends out by 9.15am latest but more usually between 7.15am and 8.15am, and in around same time 3pm (in summer leave them until 4 or 4.30 sort of time).

go out again 9.30-10.30pm to skip, hay, check water and rugs.

I wouldn't even bother drumming it into them. Just say that if they don't look after their horse you will contact the authorities - and do contact them. If its a child, ring their father at work and leave messages with the receptionists. Poor horse.

Fed about 8.30 some more haylage turned out about 10 for a couple of hours dependent on weather then brought back in, fed about 5 with hay top then checked at about 9 on the nightouple of hours

Yesterday as it was pretty vile so they had been out stable done and brought back in by 10.30. don't see the point in leaving horses out in the rain if all they're going to do is stand in the muddy gate way looking miserable and also don't see it fair on the clipped out horses to be stood out in vile conditions

If I stable them overnight, 9am is the latest I go there.
They're out 24/7 though (unless bad weather) so I go whenever I have time. I rely on partner to take me up/to feed them on his way to/from a customer.

Horses know they get fed once a day and they're not hanging about waiting for it although they run up to the car when they spy us. Liveries all check each others horses so although only go once a day, all horses are checked at least twice if not 3 times.

Have a rota to turn out in mornings, so horses go out between 7am and 8am. I normally try to get to the yard for 8.30 (earlier on my mornings to do) to muck out etc and ride. 3 evenings a week I arrange to have mine brought in for me, my evenings I am normally there for 5.30pm to bring in. Sometimes earlier/ later depending on work or weather. Most weekends I spend the day at the yard, so they have some extra time in.

Mine are out between 8 and 8.30 in the morning, unless its Sunday when it is a bit later. I arrive at about 5 on a weekday after work to see to them. In the winter they come in at night, in the summer they are out all the time. The young girl that keeps her horse as my yard is terrible, arriving any where between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm, when she is not at school. I have taken to putting in hay as I can not see a horse stand that long without food. I tried to explain ulcers but she didn't get it......this is a girl that thought having your horse shod was a type of clip!? I'd ask her to leave but I am slowly drumming some knowledge into her head!

Mine are on full so they are given hay/haylage at 6am, turned out between 7 and 8am, brought in between 4 and 5pm, hay and feed at 6ish. I get there anytime between 6 and 8pm, depending on when I leave work. The YO does a check/drive by between 10 and 11pm.

I do muck out when I can, and I like to be as hands on as possible. We're all very alike on the yard, and will often bring in/feed etc if needed, especialy on competition days when the YM may be away. (and even though we are all on full, we don't mind mucking in when needed ;) )

Out at any time between 6:30 to 10:30 in the mornings as I work shifts (4am to 10:30am, sometimes lunchtime), so rely on other DIYers to turn out when I'm working. On my days off, I turn all the horses out at around 7am, and occasionally, I have to turn out after work if everyone else is also busy. Its a small yard, only 4 of us atm, so its suits us to share turnout and bringing in duties, but we all muck out our own.

I get them in between 7 and 8 at night, and muck out when I have a spare half hour during the day, yard is close to home so I can just nip over whenever.
