In summer they are out so check twice a day , around 5.30am and 5.30 pm. They are in over night in winter. They get finished off around 6pm , left with plenty of hay etc. I'm down again around 5.40 am. Owner lives on site.
Around 5/6pm but I'm back there at 430am so I need to go to bed also, mine is easy, he is not a big eater or drinker so I never worry about him running out of anything
10pm is the last hay. Same as you the older I get the harder it’s getting. Live out 24/7 at home. No grass due to being natives and two with cushings.
Winter time all I want to do really is go bed
Depends but normally about 5 at night in the winter. Mainly as i have to get her in before it gets dark so i get her in about 4, do jobs and finish about 5 ish (then go back to work ) Back up about half 6/7 in the morning. If i ride in the evening then it will be later.
In an ideal well i would like a later check but i'm on pure diy and already go twice a day, its just not practical to go up for a 9pm check. The horses that are on livery on my yard are often finished earlier than mine by the yard and dont get late checks so i dont feel too guilty. To be honest, bar taking a little longer to muck out, she copes well and always has hay left over. She has ems so has a small holed net and straw if needed but is out for at least 8 hours during the day.
4ish! I have a lovely girl who turns out (summer) or brings in (winter) at 4pm and I just do mornings. It's a big DIY yard and I feed all the horses on our row in the mornings, so the evening liveries pop their head over the door 6/7ish in winter to check she's alive and well
