My alarm goes off at 5.45am and I get up just after 6am. My routine goes something like this....
- breakfast (for me)
- Go to yard 1 and ride horse 1
- Muck out horse 1 and give hay, water etc
- make evning feed and leave ready for pm (he gets done for me in the evening)
- Drive to yard 2
- turn out horse 2 (she gets given her feed earlier by YO)
- Mad dash to work
- get changed in toilets and work all day
- Go to yard 2 and work horse 2
- muck out horse 2 and do hay etc and feeds.
, then quick dressed and to yard by 5.40am. Feed, turn out, muck out (whilst their eating their brekkies!
) then back home for 6.30am, shower, get the girls up (3 yo & 6 month old), breakfast (if I have time) and out to work for 7.30am.
But Tuesday and Friday's are my days off, so YO turns the horses out and I get a lie in until about 7am, when the girls wake me up!
Well now Ive only got the one in, I do her on my way to work, so get up about 7 ish, leave house at 8, get to yard about 8.20, muck out, hay, water, rugs, leave at 8.45, get to work at 9am!
BUT, next week I wont have ANY horses in, so I guess Ill just crawl out of bed at 8.30 and drag my sorry ass into work for 9am! Sweeet

. I get up at 6, walk and feed three mad labs, jump in the shower and then do hair and slap before getting dressed, leave home about 7.20 in work for about 7.50 depending on traffic. Finish work anywhere between 5.30 and 7, later at the mo sometimes as unfortunately having to make people redundant
. Walk the girlies again before going to see my boy who I fuss over, feed, skip out, straighten rugs, put hay in etc. Rarely riding at the moment cause I'm tired after the drain of putting people out of work. Say hello to my OH who is also working mad hours and then fall into bed. Looking forward to lighter days and warmer weather - soon be summer !!!!
I set my alarm for 5:45am..
- Get out of bed, grab a coffee and get dressed
- muck out, feed the yard, haynets etc.
- ride one
- go home, get showered and transformed
- sit in traffic for half an hour and make it to work for 9
- work through until 5:30
- get to the yard for about 6:15 to muck both out again (no winter turnout!) haynets, feeds etc
- ride the other (when she is sound)
- finish off and usually home for about 8
Alarm goes off at 5.45, but sometimes I stay in bed til 6. Shower, makeup, etc, get to yard at around 6.45. Muck out, ride from 7.30 to 8.30. Turn horses out. Feed horses out in the field. Quick change, then leave for work at 9.
Mine live out most of the time, and I still have some grass, so 6.30 - 7ish if there is a frost, if not, dare I say sometimes not until 8 or 8.30.
On the rare occassions they are in, I do a late night haynet before I go to bed (10 or 11pm) and as I can see the stables from the bedroom, so don't feel so guilty if they don't get let out until 7.30am or maybe a tad later.
I love my horses, they get a pretty cool deal with all their needs catered to the best of my ability, so if sometimes everything isn't completely run around them, I forgive myself.
I get up at 5.45 and don't do D before work, OH does her for me. He know that otherwise I'd be getting up at 4.45 and he doesn't fancy hearing the alarm at that time of the morning!
On an average day I work 7.15 to 4.45 with one break of about 15 mins, anyone want my job?
I have different times for different times of the year.
This time of year, I cant ride before work as not got a menage and it's too dark to ride around the farm track...
So..
5:50 a.m. up, walk doggies to yard, put out, muck out, prepare stable (for the lovely YO who brings the full time worker's horses in at 4 o'clock), Walk doggies around farm track, home for 7:30 7:40 ish, shower, then do the most important job..Hair & Make-Up! leave house at 8:15 to get to work for 8:30 a.m.
When clocks go forward / back (depending upon which time of year I'm battling against the light....
To ride before work I'm up at 5:30 then the same routine as above but somehow I always end up being late for work!
Alarm goes off at 5.40 - snoozed til 6. Get up feed the cats. Go to yard for 6.15. Muck out one, do water and soak hay, change rugs etc. Change the other ones rugs and drag them both up the road to the field. Back at yard by 7.10 muck out the other one and leave by latestest 7.30
Home 7.30/40 jump in the shower get ready, try to leave at 8.20 - in work by 9.
I get up at 6.20am, down the horses just before 7am, chuck them out, in work just after 7am. I work where the horses are kept. Stables are done after work at 3-4pm. Normally ride in the day.
I get up at 5am every day even weekends. Cant ride before work in winter as it is dark and all road work here, but come summer I will be out on my horse at 5.30am...cant wait...roll on summer!
Generally alarm is set for 5.30, get dressed and out the door by 5.40 and at yard by 5.55. Feed, change rugs, t/o and muck out both, leave yard at 6.30 - 6.45 ish, it takes 15 mins to get home and then i leave for work at 8am and in the office for 9am. Sometimes i will stretch it to 5.55 to get up which means i have more mucking out to do in the evening!!
I don't have time to see George in the mornings (he's on full livery) but my day is something like this:
6.45am - get up , brekkie etc.
7.45am - leave for work
9.15 - 17.30 - work
18.45 - home from work
19.00 - arrive at yard
21.00 - home from yard
21.00-22.30 - slob in front of tv

Mine is 4:40 alarm get up by 5am

leave by 8am if on site or have a cup of tea with friends who start arriving 8.30 plus,
I get up at 5.30, sort out the dogs and have a quick cuppa, then go down to the yard ( keep my horses at home)
Mine are still living out, so I put feed and haylage out, top up water and poo pick before the school run.
At then end of the day, after the school run I do the same again, but at twice the speed before the light goes!
