I've recently bought a couple of horses - bit of a charity case so not many questions asked - both have passports but one has a very old useless looking one - basically some sheets of paper stapled together! It's issued by Richard J Steel who from a quick google no longer exist, and apparently are now managed by the Donkey Society. I really don't want to have my new showjumper registered with the Donkey Society :-( haha!
What can I do? He's not microchipped (at least there's no mention in the passport) so technically I could register him anew with any passport agency, I guess?
The other one has a passport from the Horse Passport Agency, so I guess is valid. although I can't see a microchip ID anywhere on it, which surely he must have had as he came over from Ireland. It just has a Life Number and barcode, or is that the microchip?
