I posted on here on Monday about my lads run in with the fence over night on Sunday. Long story short, he's skinned and cut his back legs and they were both extremely swollen monday morning. Vet came and gave me Danillon and Anti biotics for 5 days and said to keep in in for at least a couple of days till swelling had settled and hopefully lameness would wear off. Anyway he really kicked off on Monday about being kept in, but eventually he calmed down and yesterday he'd obviously been a bit stressed while I wasn't there but he seemed to have accepted his situation by last night. By this morning the swelling on one of his legs had all but gone, the other leg however is still quite up around the fetlock although he doesn't seem at all lame. I walked him in hand around the yard for about 40 mins to stretch his legs and put him back in after alot of protest from him about 11.30. I have just had a phone call from my YO to say that he's been going mad in his box, and is now absolutley dripping with sweat all over. there is another pony up on the yard so he isn't alone but he obviously has decided that he doesn't want to be in anymore. I have said to the YO to give him 1/2 then check on him again and if he hasn't settled then I'll go down, but what do I do when I get there? Appart from bring him out and wash him down which I'll probably do anyway. Should I take the chance on turning him out for a couple of hours? AGHHHH!! Bloody creature doesn't know whats good for him.
