what type of boots do you all prefer to ride in? i feel my leg postion is better with short boots but i feel more vulnerable in them! i tend to wear long boots just because i feel safer in them haha!

do you think the type of boots makes a difference?

i've always had the rubber long bootsfrom shires but when i return to riding i may consider switching back to joddy boots and chaps as i have a terrible problem with keeping my heels down... perhaps if they were more free to move???!!! but being short with fat legs, chaps may be difficult to find :(
although the long boots are definately warmer in this weather:p

long boots for me! i hate my gaiters and my jodpur boots are flimsy on the heel and they just annoy me -.- so i always ride in my toggi calgry boots :)

I wear whatever I have on my feet at the time, trainers, riggers, DR's, my favourites are my Boulets though.

None are better, or worse, than the other. :)

for every day riding at the moment its just my short boots and gaiters, for shows hopefully in the not so distant future after another few weeks in the gym (haha) it will be my long boots that im desperate to wear with the possibility of wearing them at the yard too as got a good price on equestrian clearance

ariats + slim gaiters, which feel a lot better for flatwork or jumping that grasmeres, although those are much warmer for hacking.
for comps, long zip boots, can't stand the non-zip ones now, they feel so loose around the ankles.

I think I ride better in long boots, but have been wearing short boots recently.

I bought a pair of mountain horse protective rider short boots this year because I was getting too hot in my long boots and I also wanted something I could pop on with jeans and something comfy for walking in. I gave myself awful blisters going out on foot in my long boots while DH hacked. I also wanted to protect my toes as the horse isn't too careful where she puts her feet. But I do find my heel creeps up in these as they are less flexible at the ankle.

My long boots are Mountain Horse Sportives, but I would love some ariat bromonts.

Must try some on and see if they fit on my stupid small feet/long legs combination...
