What was you funniest ever comment on a dressage test ?

I once had:
"... needs a more steady rhythm in the medium trot. Your Mum says, she has been saying that for ages and you should listen to her!"

I swear.
Turns out Mum had been asked to help at the last minute and be a writer, typically she couldn't help herself and had to pip in, felt quite sorry for the judge and quite embarrassed.

I used to have a cob that was very hard to stop/turn etc and after one particularly disasterous test where we had careered round largely out of control the judge actually drew a circle on the test sheet as she clearly thought i had no idea what one was

not a great day!

I had a 'wonderfully executed passage, however prelim dictates that you stay within the area' as we then reveresed at speed out of the arena :O

lol

Guys...that is the funniest thread I have ever read!!! I don't do dressage so can't contribute....but that has made me howl with laughter!!!!

Not a dressage person as you can probably guess from the screen name........I seem to recall my first outdoor test with my current horse who was 5 at the time. Was along the lines of 'Ran into canter and straight out the arena.' Made me smile anyway.

I had "bravely ridden" after my cob took off on a 20mtr circle shot out of the arena up a bank and down the other side so i spun her round rode back over the bank and commenced the circle as if nothing had happened - that comment was such an understatement it made me laugh!!

Lol these are so funny!!!
I had 'some interesting movements shame they weren't required in the test' on my current horses dressage debut. She did most of the test on 2 legs and did one time changes throughout all her canter work.
On my old horse got an 8 for the entry and just as I was turning right at C the writer clicked her pen my horse bolted and completed the test at gallop! Everytime we steadied slightly something would set her off again. Comment was 'needs to bend around the leg more' I don't think she knew what to say!!! I was killing myself laughing when i finally stopped to do a hasty salute!

These replies have really cheered me up ! On my first test sheet I had

' Canter sideways not required in this test'

' Circles reasonable despite the better efforts of your horse '.

Did the whole test on my horse who felt like an unexploded bomb !

my last dressage test with Shadow back in sept 07 (it was part of a yard combined training thing, VERY low key but proper dressage judge), i think it was prelim one. we'd already done the jumping in the school and pony was getting a bit tired but went into once more for the test and felt quite on her toes

the best comment was "WHAT A SUPER PARTNERSHIP! a little one the forehand and needs to take a little more weight onto her hind quarts, BUT WHAT POTENTIAL!"

brilliant. she was 27 at the time and we won by a ridiculously huge margin and 78%

i miss my little po

A very well matched pair. Certainly some work to be done. Nice to see a horse with a smile that matches the owner

It was at college and me an the horse were not dressage-y so just had a jolly little canter round the school!!!

What a great thread! The second last time I dared to do a test on grass I came down the centreline at the end and couldnt stop my boy so we veered off to M and saluted from there anyway, I got "you deserve 10/10 for bravery!" The last time I did a test on grass we worked in perfectly, came down the centreline just as is started to hail, it was a novice test and we we'd already cantered the free walk, then when we attempted our trot across the diagonal showing some medium strides he took off and my mate who was reading cracked up laughing, which made me laugh, I got a tactfully ridden but Im not sure how smacking him in the gob screaming for help is tactful!

Nice tail plait
