What would be he one reason you would sell your horse/pony?

If I didn't want to be involved in the horse(s) any more.
If I couldn't afford the time/money/energy that I felt I should dedicate to the horse.
If the horse was more than I could manage on my own, even with help.

My too will be for sale soon if they don't stop pooing and weeing in the field shelter. They are supposed to live out and it is only there to keep the hay dry. They are getting through too much straw which I haven't budgeted for. What can I do to stop them? They also eat the straw, it is shocking.

i will never sell my boy should the worst happen & i cannot care for him for any reason then its a call to the vet he has had too much harm done to him in the hands of previous owners & myself & his last owners have put in too much work to get him trusting to let him be hurt again.

his last thoughts would still be i love my home.

Have you thought about putting rubber matting down? x

Nothing would make me sell mine.

Lottie is 31 and not had a happy life before came to me at 15, I would PTS before I risked her being neglected.

Beau and Ice are home for life, I would take a sharer or loan beofre I sold them. OH and I would be living in the horsebox on their little yard and selling the house if it was that bad!!

I'd say for me the top potential reasons for selling would be health issues, financial trouble, and also if for some reason it damaged my relationship to my OH and family.

However, at the moment I consider selling my mare and it is not for any of the reasons above, but due to a "career change" for my horse. She had a field injury and despite over a years rehab won't have a ridden career. Had she been old I would have wanted to keep her through her retirement years, however, she is only 6 years old, her breeding is excellent, and I think she could go on to have a good career as a broodmare in another home. She is wasted with me.
