For showing, showjumping, dressage do you mean?
Everyday - whatever he wants to.
Showing - buff / beige unless Evening Performance
SJ & Dressage - white or beige seems to be the norm.

Is this a wind up? Whatever colour he likes. It’s 2021 not 1850.
I think this is moving on from some of the previous posts! Remember moving the horse being transported to the UK from ???!! There was one last night about owning a yard in Lambourn with a 13.1 pony and having hot chocolate and snacks available. ?

Either is fine, it's personal preference really. I would not bother with the long rubber boots, they're so uncomfortable! If you literally don't have anything suitable already I'd buy a good pair of jodphur boots and some chaps. Then in the summer when it's hot again you can ditch the chaps and ride in short boots and long socks. Much cooler

When airlines first introduced charges for luggage, I remember a few international equestrians travelling in breeches, boots and hats.
Other than that, probably the most cringe worthy sightings are the spectators at international equestrian events who turn up in riding gear despite having left the horse at home.

either are fine, I prefer half chaps and jodhpur boots, because, well you can take the chaps off in the summer so your legs don't get roasted to death, and also if the boots sole comes off, you can buy a new pair of boots (that's if you don't want to use the good old duct tape), but with tall boots, you would have to buy a whole new pair (or duct tape them) and have them fitted, and break tall boots in (btw it is not fun).

I tried warning my boots to stay clean or else, when we were in the middle of a magistrates' court. The magistrates were not amused and threatened to charge me with contempt if I continued to admonish my footwear.
that certainly does sound humiliating, KB.

It did happen. What does feel wierd is travelling on the London underground in long boots with one's whip, riding hat and bp. For our golden wedding OH and I decided to ride in Hyde Park and then to go to lunch as a restuarant. We went for a drink at a hotel near the park, changed out of our riding clothese and the lunch restaurant kindly ot our riding bags in their cloakroom (pre arranged).
Riding in Hyde Park is one of the things I dream of doing again when the vaccine comes through and Covid rates drop.

Do a google search for "Male Dressage outfit". You just need Black/Blue jacket, White shite and tie, light breeches and long boots

I just tried that search (with some concern about what might come up ?) and there are some good images, though generally advertising some very expensive gear, modelled by some easy-on-the-eye models ;) https://images.app.goo.gl/UUZS1RGC2y8zg5Yz9

It's quite hard to find pictures of 'lower level' male dressage riders as unfortunately it's still very female-dominated. However, in general some light-coloured (beige / white) breeches or jodhpurs, clean and smart boots, a white / light coloured shirt and simple tie and a riding jacket in a sober plain colour or tweed. There's no need to spend a lot, when I started out I competed for the first two years in a jacket that I bought for £10 on eBay!
