if you went to see a horse, with a friend, it was advertised for a price (2500)but then the seller said their son plaiced the advert and put the price too low. They said it was 500 pound too low, but they'd take an extra 300 on top of the price they'd advertised for. (2800)Friend likes the horse, but we only found this out after a 2 hour journey !

i'd tell them to do a running jump, if they can't advertise the horse at the right price its their problem. If you're dead keen on it offer the full (original) asking price of 2500, if they haggle i'd maybe go an extra 100 but no more!

Surely if the price was wrong in the advert the sellers should have stated that when you made the appointment to go and view it?

Trying to put the price up after you've arranged to view is taking the mickey. I wouldn't be paying over the £2.5k.

I'd be knocking some more off what the offer simply because they are taking the rip out of you. It's unlikely they have loads of potential buyers at the moment and if they do there are plenty of other horses about.

Ask them to refund your petrol money for a wasted trip as you wouldn't have come to see it if advertised for £3k! They had plenty of time to tell you of the 'mistake' when you arranged the viewing

Walk away but make sure you tell them WHY you are walking away. Keep us posted but personally i wouldnt be best amused with the p**s takers!

I had a similar thing happen but never actually made it to see the horse. They rang me up the day before my viewing and said "they had more interest than they thought they would and have therefor put the price up" i ssid stuff you!!! How rude! : /

Its a buyers market and most people advertise a little more than they actually want for the horse because they expect to bbe haggled down hence o.n.o on most adds! They have a cheek and are definatly trying it on! If your friend really wants the horse offer the asking price of 2.5k and walk away ide bet my last dime they bite your hand off!

Walk away. Although a little silly not to confirm the price before going to view it.

We did confirm the price, with the son who placed the ad and was (we thought!) selling the horse. My friend had messaged and spoken to the son for some time before arranging to view, to make sure the horse was suitable etc before we arranged to visit.

Then we got there, the son was busy and we got passed onto the Dad, who showed us it etc then in the process of doing it said he wasn't sure what his son had placed on the ad- we told him the price we had confirmed- and he said ah, there's been some confusion, it's actually £3000, my son placed the ad without me seeing it. When I said that £3000 wasn't what we had said, or had been on the advert, he then said I would meet you halfway, £2800.
