After a great schooling session this afternoon I came home and checked the show schedules, however there were no unaffiliated dressage competitions until late July - when i'm on holiday.
I haven't been out (and neither has Gov) since late last August for a whole host of reasons and I can't help but feel like we're not really moving forward and he's 7 this year. I know he's coming on but I just feel like getting out to more competitions would be good for him and good for moving us forwards.
So my option is have a crack at affiliated Novice 32 on a ticket or wait for another unaffiliated. Governor works nicely and he's showing self carriage and consistency. We haven't exactly established medium trot or canter but I feel we can show a few good strides. Would I be chucking myself in the deep end or should I just go for it?
