i have been contemplating a new horse to share with my 17 yr old daughter for r/c stuff, hacking etc as my older mare is recuperating from a tendon injury and although sound i will never jump or do fast work. However daughter is hopefully going to uni next September so sensible me thought i will just stick with my girl and be happy to hack. However a lovley, just my type Hanoverian/connie cross mare 15.3 has been advertised locally and is now available for loan. I am reluctant to introduce a new horse at home now ,for fear of silly behavior damaging tendon so would need livery over the winter and use of facilities to keep a new horse going ,so that all adds up. in an ideal world i would buy or loan a horse in spring however i know chances of the right sort of horse appearing is not always the case. Daughter will also be busy with exams but im itching to get out and about and have fun. sensible head also knows costs are also more over winter. Should i be rational, practical and sensible and wait for better timing or risk it ?
