Per week for a full loan (shared for 16 weeks) happy hacker with good hacking close by and all bedding, feed, basic vet and farrier visits paid for?

A full loan is normally you pay everything for the horse but not to the owner.

You are thinking of either a part loan (where you have a number of days per week and contribute a fixed amount for those days) or a lease where they pay you to borrow your horse.

Leases are not common in the uk unless it is a top competition pony or breeding stock

If I’m perfectly honest when I read your other post I thought it might appeal to someone but with a fair few restrictions I would never pay for that arrangement. Just for me personally. Other people might.

OP, what restrictions are these?

Restrictions, depending on what they are, are likely to limit the pool of riders willing to pay to take your horse on.

Restrictions, depending on what they are, are likely to limit the pool of riders willing to pay to take your horse on.

the pony needs to stay on current yard, light hacking only but OP wants to ride when she is home so I’m not sure how much the loaner would ride then as the pony’s a light hack. Pony is also 13.2 so no one over 10 stone and no children, adults only.

I think these restrictions are fair but I wouldn’t pay to ride as it nearly feels like you would be keeping the pony fit so when the OP is home she can jump on and go and not have to worry about getting the pony back into work. Again nothing wrong with that, someone would get to ride a lovely hacking pony but I would see it more as helping the OP out when she’s away.

we have a 13.1 in our field and she doesn’t take up my leg. I can ride her but not ‘properly’ as my legs are dangling at her side so wouldn’t pay to ride her. Your pony maybe takes up the leg better but just another thought that for adults wanting to improve their riding position it might not work on a pony. I only add this as you often see people looking for a hacking share to get more saddle time to compliment their lessons and this arrangement sounds like that would suit someone in that position.

agree with this. The requirements are so specific and the holiday period limitations will limit the people that it might appeal to, it's neither a share nor a loan.
Therefore i would say no payment to change hands and just do rides in exchange for jobs.

Edited on reflection:

Thanks gang, appreciated. Advert says "Full loan/share" and that the finer details can be worked out with anyone interested. Advert also doesn't specify any price so can also be worked out if and when and how much.

It really wouldnt be a case of keeping her fit. Although I've said 16 weeks that's the maximum and would be more like 4 weeks with me having a half an hour hack on any days when I felt she could based on workload she'd already done. Essentially nothing would change for loaner.

I would advertise as a share as loans imply that you’re taking full care of the horse and it’s costs meaning the owner wouldn’t be riding the horse
Share is when you share the horse..so you both ride
