I'm putting one together for our yard. I know the basics and the the most important things to get, but what unique bits and pieces have you discovered that you couldn't live without?
don't know about unique, but top of the list has to be thermometer... it's amazing the number of horse owners who don't own one but have lotions & potions galore!
other than that the things I use most are
povidone iodine
cotton wool
a clean pot to put water in for washing wounds etc
decent scissors and tweezers
various dressings & bandages/softban/gamgee/vetwrap etc
something like hydrogel for small wounds
stuff for poulticing foot
also got a few sachets of bute on hand just in case.
you can go mad buying stuff but anything needing much more would probably require vet visit anyway.
Lorry kit is the same cut down a little, plus plasters & painkillers for people
Vaseline, aloe vera, blue aerosol spray (teramycin - dries out wounds wonderful stuff/ or aluminium spray), I find iodine too wet, good for cleaning though and salt. Also something to remove a shoe, and an implement that can cut fencing wire/electric tape (saviour when someone decides to get a loose shoe caught!!!), duct tape to fix on a hoof poultice, everything millipops has said
