What do you think could make equestrianism better in your area? Especially the NorthWest?
More yards? less yards, livery?? More facilities available? ...
Please post your views and what area you are in...What you'd like to see more or less of and where, to make being around our horses more enjoyable. What do you think...
Thankyou!!

Having moved to the NW from Nottinghamshire, I can say the NW is infinitely more horsey.
What I really miss is decent bridleways. We seem to have plenty of decent competition venues and a fair few XC courses in driving distance .... and to top it all off, access to some decent beaches

More horse friendly tarmac!

The roads round here have been resurfaced recently, in a very hilly area, with a surface that resenbles glass! Both of our horses have road nails, one is very confident with hills, the other less so, both are slipping and sliding all over the place. This is in an area where the bridleways have been improved, you just can't get to them safely.

2/3 day events they used to run a 2 day near scarborough and one at richmond could really do for someone to put on an unaffiliated 3 day like milton keynes do

more DIY yards. We live near Aylesbury in Bucks and have to go 12.5 miles to the yard as theres nowt nearer thats affordable with facilities.

Countryside around Edinburgh - a competition venue would be nice. ie with an indoor school capable of holding BSJA. I am not including SNEC because its in West Lothian and still quite a trip for me, there is nothing between it and Northumberland.

Also some livery yards offering proper full livery and good facilities such as a decent sized outdoor school, some jumps, staff, a wash box, etc..

Off-road riding! We're in the middle of North Shrops, millions of fields with footpaths around us and only one bridleway with three collapsed gates before you get in and 'make friends' with a herd of bullocks!
