Been in a wistful mood recently so have started writing a bucket list - here's some of the stuff I've added to it

- Go on a horseback safari (cheesy, I know)

- Buy my own horse (even cheesier)

- Drive a four horse hitch

- Get on a horse bareback from the ground (I am not flexible in the slightest, and live in fear of my foot hitting horse's flank - but at the same time, you'd think anyone should be able to get on a 13 hander!)

Ride a GP test in competition (horse now has a bit of everything in the test under her belt, but while I'm closer than ever it's still very much out of reach!)

Back and train a horse I've bred myself (also getting closer.... homebred foal is now a yearling so hopefully i can keep her alive )

I don't really have other things I've yearned for, i've done loads of things with horses and like to have dreams that are sorta achievable so i have something meaningful to work towards :)

I guess, have them at home again. Working on that one but it's going to come down to the planning dept more than anything we can control

I'd like to ride our Connie on the beach but even in his 20's I have serious doubts about the brakes and would need a beach with no groynes, random dogs or small children
I'd like to have the Dales mare broken to drive, enough money for a nice cart and time to drive her.
I'd love to try western and a lovely western saddle for above connie as I think he'd enjoy it too.

Being an older person, I'm very fortunate to have ticked off a few things.
However, I've a few things to do:
Riding across the Russian Steppes
Riding all the places where Mary O'Hara mentioned in the Flicka, Thunderhead and Green Grass of Wyoming books.
Taking B Fuzzy to the beach.

Probably other things, but those stand out at present ☺

My bucket list is all ticked apart from I’d like my horse to go to Nationals. And I’d love to buy next doors paddock to build an indoor on it but that’s just me being extra ridiculous.

I guess a genuine one is to hope I can maintain everyone’s health and soundness and happiness. Bit cheesey I guess.

I would love to take one of my own to HOYS. Maybe one day.

I am utterly gutted this year though! I can't get the time off of work to go to HOYS and cheer on The Wee Coloured Job! He qualified for the Junior Ridden M&M on the Friday afternoon at his first and only attempt at a HOYS qualifier!

Other than HOYS I am not sure what else would be on my bucket list to be honest.

Someone above mentioned 1 time tempi changes - I taught Big Bad Borris to do them accidentally ??? not something your average racehorse would ever learn how to do let alone learn whilst they were still racing ??

I want to go & do a multi day ride (or a few days of consecutive riding) in Iceland as fell a bit in love with both the scenery & the horses when I went a few years ago. (Otherwise I highly recommend doing the riding in Iceland bit of your list if you get the chance!)

Would also love to do something like the Dartmoor Derby in this country or as that's hideously expensive would settle for some more multi day rides with friends.

Would like to eventually actually get on board the Fuzzball & hopefully get back to doing some TREC & would like to go one step further than qualifying for L2 nationals & actually go & compete (ok who am I kidding I want to WIN!)

I'd like to make it around an ODE one day seeing as that dream got crushed a bit with the orange one... Even if it's a teeny tiny unaffiliated!

- ride an Icelandic horse in Iceland
- ride my own sidesaddle
- have a go at carriage driving
- ride a GP test
- and for something totally unrealistic ride in the Mongol Derby

ride an Icelandic in Iceland would be amazing!! Think you’ve just extended my bucket list ? but also would love to do some forest rides. We have about 3 trees here.

I would love to ride the Red Dragon and/or Golden Horseshoe rides :)

I'd also like to do a long distance ride - the camp out with the pony and carry your stuff type ride. I've done a very mini-version close to home but would love to ride over a few days or weeks in somewhere like the Peak Diatrict ... one day!

Take my own horse to the beach. (I've taken one of the Cumbrian Heavy Horses, but I want to take my own.)

Have a sidesaddle lesson. (I've ridden sidesaddle but I couldn't figure anything out! A lesson or two on a schoolmaster would be lovely.)

Western riding holiday in Montana or similar.

Drive and/or ride in a hansom cab. (Preferably 'and'.)

i would like my own place so i could have another horse and be able to pay someone to do the heavy jobs which i struggle with. i would love to find my saddle which was stolen 5 years ago, i loved that saddle!!!:(:( i would rehome a couple of horses/ponies from a charity so when i ride there are at least 2 left..

to enable that i need to win the lottery...got 2 numbers this week
