Random post, but randomly just wondering how high everyone was confident jumping, I used to be able to confidently jump up to about 3foot 9! But after some 'issues' am now currently only confident enough to jump 2foot 6ish!
But was just curious what most people were confident with jumping!?!

i'm confident jumping up to 1.05 on some horses (mine included) getting on a new horse prob only up to 1m.
up to 1.20 on one particular horse (not mine). biggest i've ever jumped is 1.25 but that was a single fence, not a course.

a course is so different to single fences, i think ive jumped around 1.30m just as a single fence but i would poo my pants if i was asked to do that big in the form of a course! Im mainly comfortable upto about 1.10m.

Mine was about 5ft but was only supposed to be 3.5ft but silly horse threw a silly stride in and cat lept way above the size of jump,I flew out of saddle a futher foot came down landed on pommel and broke a bone in knee. Not jumped much since

Deliberatly? 1.20 (13.3hh, in my sig.)
By Accident? 5ft hedge with 3ft6(ish) wide ditch infront of it (same 13.3hh!!) He bolted and I thought it would stop him!!

This one wasnt by choice but I was trying out a 14hh jumping pony (about 25 years ago) but somebody forgot to tell me that if you face it at a jump no matter how far away from it you are it will just lock on it and go for it and there is nothing you can do so we ended up jumping a 4ft fence.

What made it worse was he had been taken on the beach that morning and wouldnt stop so had slightly ripped mouth hence when I was trying it I didnt want to pull on its mouth at all. If I knew what i know now I would have refused to have tried said pony until mouth had healed. Must admit it was quite good jumping a 4ft fence, have never tried it since and didnt buy pony.

about 5ft on my old ex racer. He cleared all 5ft 6 of my friend and scared her nearly to death. He realised he was going to be the last one in the field, galloped towards her and her horse going out the gate, and jumped over her head. I wasn't there, but found her a nervous wreck talking about "it was like, and he went, and I saw his belly!" I was PMSL

well mine seems rather small now . . am confidently doing 3ft courses and did a 3ft9 fence to see what he could do.
i'm trying to increase our course heights but we had a terrible year last year for not even being able to get round a 2ft3 course without being eliminated so its slowly coming!

Back in my mad teenage years I jumped 5'4" on my 14.2 quite a lot! That's taller than me!! I must have been mad!

By accident - 5ft (dad was lowering the height of a jump in the practice from top of the wings and my pony (left) decided it would be funny to jump him and the jump)....... Managed to stay on and stop afterwards..... decided to try the joker (4ft) in my scurry class and got it down!!!
Used to be able to jump 4ft (on same pony) with no saddle on and not care but now it takes me to sit on a horse.......

Four foot, but that was in a 'down and out'. It wasn't when I was a teenager though it was just a few years ago! I know it's not as high as some people but I'm quite pleased because I'm not a confident jumper.

I jumped about 3 ft 9(I think - it was on those triangle combi block things - top hole straight on small side) on my 14.2 fat cobby - she doesn't jump that big any more though, she was lame for 9 months and never actually found out what it was - one day she was magically sound again

QR I don't know, it was a fallen tree out hunting, it was humungous, there was no run-out, I screwed my eyes shut and squealed like a child even though the ned jumped it beautifully and to cap it all there was a man with a camcorder stood on the other side

I jumped 1.55m by accident on my old coloured horse, my friend's BF was building up the fences with those plastic block thingys and I came round thinking "hmm that's quite big..." - popped it twice then measured it, was a bit

! Have also jumped a scarily tall and skinny hedge out hunting on him, couldn't see over it which was possibly just as well as the drop at the other side was huuuge and I'd never have attempted it if I'd known. As a course the biggest I've attempted was a B&C on him (1.25m) and the second round of the Winter Novice qual this year with Jack was 1.20m/1.25m. Also jumped a 'novice' grand prix jump off on the horse I used to ride and the last two fences were at 1.30m

. It's funny cos so many kids on my yard gloat that they've jumped 1.35/1.40 at home, but they'd actually have a breakdown if you suggested they jumped anything bigger than BN at a show...
