My pony had laminitis mildly in june. She was box rested for a few weeks and came sound within a month and we were all very shocked with her quick recovery as this is at least the second time shes had a bout of it.
There was no real reason for the lami, we just accepted shes a welsh a and her weight had gone up a bit too much over the spring. Shes not been herself for a while shes been having days where shes almost her normal bouncy and over the top hypo self but others where shes quiet which isnt like her and its how she was when she was ill.
I decided today to start lunging her again, shes lost all her weight and muscle over the past few months so started slow and she was fine walking but as soon as she started to trot she looked lame on a back leg so i stopped her and felt her legs and they were fine but she was putting her ears back when i was touching her hips and her back and moving away.
I got my mum to trot her up for me, she was a bit off when trotting in a straight line but not what you would call lame she just looked stiff but when she was on a circle she was definatly lame. When i tried to turn her on a tight circle it was obviously hurting her so i was wondering if it could be her hips??
Im totally and utterly confused its never simple with this pony, shes only 7 so im hoping its not somthing like athritis .. sorry for rambling and ta in advance for any advice
