When did you last fall off?

Has HHO changed for the worse?

It's quite interesting that most people haven't fallen off in over a year. Are we all riding sensible horses or just really good riders?

Well....my horse certainly aint sensible....and I'm not a really good rider...I just have an amazing self-preservation streak and will somehow manage to stay on no matter how ridulous I look.

NB...small skinny horse=easy to wrap legs around lol

Monday 2 weeks ago, off a 13.3hh pony haha! He threw a strop, head to the floor and off I went. Didnt hurt myself, was quite refreshing falling off a 13.3hh, so much more pleasant than falling off Pickle

I probably last fell off around 1996-7!

I hate saying it because I think I’ll jinx things, it was a funny fall as well, my pony was very excited during a gallop and bronked up the field then tripped and stumbled and I came off over the shoulder, jumped back on and finished the gallop with the no stirrups and the saddle on nearly sideways!!!
I very nearly came a cropper last week when Hens decided to jump from behind the placing pole it was one of those…”ohGodMyFeetAreNowPossiblyAboutToBeHigherThanTheSaddleAndMyBumIsAboutAMetreAwayFromWhereItShouldBe” I managed to drop a rein as well on that jump and catch it on landing! Was rather impressive that everything landed in the correct place! (or not as the case may be!).

My poor horse has to put up with a lot from me!

I fall off rather a lot, less than I used to but

I have certainly never managed more than 6 months without hitting the deck

last fall was 9 weeks ago. = broken arm so

though am not sure it is technically a 'fall' as pone came down too so I didn't really have any choice!

it appears I dont bounce as well as I did.

I bought this user name off ebay, I heard it came with a good reputation so paid £15 for it. Please don't tell me I've been scammed!

Poopymoo - I think you under estimate your riding skills, small horse = nibble horse = speed of lighting turns when scary leave falls from tree.

about 4 years ago when my foot was smooshed beyond recognition, but i have been riding fairly sensible horses since. I'm a bit of a wimp now about being fallen on. I got off the other week when he had an epi on a steep downhill road and started slipping. I'm pretty annoyed now, if i had just told him off and made him walk forwards not sideways we would have been fine. Grr.

Ironically i rode all sorts of nut job horses and never fell off them, before i broke my foot on a quiet hack out on a fairly sensible horse who slipped and landed on me.

I think i am due another...

well my last fall was from a horse that i owned for less than a week it was dec 11 day after my birthday and he decided he hated me and wanted me off. he won i lost and my ability to bounce.
so 7 weeks i think i was on crutches.
one before that i was on here about when yard owner kicked horse in stomach as i was getting on horse went mad and that was another stretch on crutches.

Fell off a year past October from a standstill...well I say fell off, I was bucked off. Was at a riding club jumping rally and took ages for everyone to arrive and meanwhile my horse having warmed up had switched off again. So when we then did have to get going he refused to move off the leg so backed it up with my crop and he did a few bucks in annoyance, as I'd shortened my stirrups I was up out the saddle and off via his shoulder before I knew it. It was a great start and instructor and I were both slightly giggling as it was so ridiculous to come off even before I'd got near a jump!

In the summer when pony fell over while show jumping.
Ended up with a very lame and sore pony, and I had to go to hospital. Had x-rays on my back, chest and hip; Doctor said I was lucky not to have broken my hip as it was so swollen.
Kind of fell off the other day, but that's because the mount block was wet and I slipped off that while trying to get on! Haha

Depends on the definition
wink.gif
I 'got off' after my saddle ended up under Gingas belly yesterday
wink.gif
Didn't fall, climbed back on then decided maybe I needed to get the saddle back
wink.gif
Before that Tally got me off 2 times on his 4th ride, doing total freak out moves. Both times I could have tried to do what I did with Giga and climb round the neck
tongue.gif
But didn't want to hurt him as he is weany. Before that last winter fell off Pip when he fell over over a jump, and off both Ginga and Brook refusing/running out once each. Before that was 2006 XC on my 14.2
wink.gif
Before that 2005 mucking around bareback. Before that mucking around at mounted games 2005. And many many many times before that

I fell face first on my pony's head when he stopped dead at a jump last week (black eye, fat lip, fat face!) - but technically not a fall as I stayed on ... all be it concussed!

Last fell off properly in the spring - same pony - after he spooked at nothing & I went out of the side door.

last night for me too!! First time in about 2 years I think, it used to be a regular occurance though
grin.gif
I'm a bit sore today, back is bad and I have a huge bruise on my knee, didn't even realise I'd hit my knee!!

Last sunday
smile.gif
In the middle of a dressage test :S

I'm quite a regular faller offer...pony is very unpredictable jumping...all can be great and on take off, he just stops and I tend to go over his head...
We like to say he's being the true gentleman and letting me go first
laugh.gif

In August, twice in 5 days off a rather unpredictable 4 year old that I was riding for a friend which then tried to kick my head in after I fell, I didnt go back
crazy.gif
But when I had my last horse, fell off about 6 times in 5 1/2 years. He never liked it when I fell off, he always used to come over to me and wonder what I was doing on the floor, bless him
grin.gif

Last Wednesday lol first fall in 8 years. Landed with a bump as I am clearly out of practice. Horse spooked at a pole and we both went different ways. Ah the fun of teaching a horse to jump
smile.gif

The last time I hit the ground, complete with horse, so technically not a fall, was Opening Meet 2005 (busted shoulder) so about this time 4 years ago.
