first time I had ridden Pharaoh since the second week of december (thanks to the weather) and he was a total star, infact he was a completely different horse! Have been trying to get him to work long and low and today he was and became really floaty

The pony i'm schooling makes me smile every time I see him because something always improves with him

Today was his cantering (not with me on him yet) and yesterday his catching etc

Last time i rode him on Sunday at a competition. I came 1st, although i don't think i could have said i was smiling, more like grinning from ear to ear...
smile every time i ride him

He just makes me happy

Mine was wednesday. I finally conquered my fear of jumping a big fence and me and the pony flew over a 3ft fence. That may not seem big to many people but to a 14.2hh that only competes at 2ft-2ft 3 and is still green seemed like a big deal for me. I was so pleased I'm still smiling now about that moment we landed the other side

I smile everytime I bring little horsey out of her stable and think how lucky we are to have her. I rode yesterday so big smiles all round. It's great we have had her for 20 years and she still has that effect on us!

Every time I ride....I had given up riding for some ten years so now each time is like a gift. Even if I'm getting absolutely ROASTED during a lesson, I can still smile thru it (or maybe at the end of it).

Now I haven't been able to ride my girl since September due to injury and I still find a way to smile with her every day regardless. I get borrowed rides on borrowed horses on my yard. And yep, the smile is there too.

I pretty much stopped smiling when riding Sienna. I love her to bits but have been riding her for 10 years and it had gotten rather stale. After a year and a half & a tendon injury I took her to an unaff 2ft 3 competition a couple of weeks ago and it was hilarious. Smiled from ear to ear - in mid air - which was rather disturbing for the spectators.

Last time I smiled was yesterday when I hacked my youngster out for the first time, he was an angel and very funny. I haven't stopped smiling since.

I smile everytime I see my horses and ponies let alone ride them.
I don't know if I just have some wierd animals but they always, without fail, do something to make me smile or laugh

I too don't need to get on for them to make me smile! I have a couple of veterans who think they're both about 4 years old who were cantering circles round and round me in the field this week as I poo picked, just because they could! And a 12 year old who thinks I look tooooo scarrryyy with a head torch on and takes off snorting every time, and of course the shetland, who only has to look at me to make me laugh!!!!

And when I do get the time and energy to ride, the grin just gets bigger!!!!!!! (mainly because they're no different when I'm on board!!!!!!)

Yesterday! I jumped him, he was brilliant.

I smile most times I ride though, wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it!

I do this for fun, but I never "enjoy" riding, I am more focused on working through problems and improving horse

That's what I do too - but doesn't it make you happy when you crack a problem and it all clicks? That's what I love as much as just going for a gallop for fun or something

Everytime I ride, even when there pratting about, they make me smile, after all you can either laugh or cry, chooseing the latter doesnt get you anywhere.

Last night. We've had a really up and down six months with different issues so its been one step forward and two back.

Last night he just felt amazing, I was riding round with a big fat smile on my face :-)

The last time I rode which was wednesday. I was feeling pretty grump and so was the horse and he was being a pain, but i still managed to smile a few times. When I asked him to leg yield in canter and he did this weird bunny hop that nearly pinged me out of the saddle. And when we jumped the last fence, and he finally gave me a decent jump without pratting about.

Even if the horse doesn't make me smile, there is normally a laugh and a joke with one of the people in the lesson or with our instructor to put a smile on my face. Or watching someone else, there is a girl with a young cob that rides with us and he just makes everyone smile and go "ah bless" when he jumps, I love seeing other people improving or cracking a problem too.

I ride a friend's horse, and she makes me chuckle quite a bit - even if it's because she's still trying to sod off to the gate ... she's not managed it with me yet.. but I do admire and chuckle at her persistence!

I'm sure I smiled last weekend which was the last time I rode tho I can't remember it or the reason but we had such a lovely hack! Last time I really laughed was weekend before when he bucked me off!

last night..when my daughter terrified as she was rode a 15h horse that she had seen throw her firend off at a jump a few weeks ago ...and she took it jumping!!! came back with a massive grin and was desperate to ride her again!!

Thats my girl!

When I hacked out last week - he was sssooooo excited to be going out couldn't contain himself and kept bursting into trot. My old boy used to make me smile like that so am happy to be smiling like that again!
Didn't smile much yesterday though when he span round in menage at great speed and left me in the dirt - was one of those 'yes I can, yes I can, b****r, no I can't' moments. Got back on but a bit stiff today - decided I need bouncy castle at the foot of my 17.2!!

It makes me smile every time! Especially if galloping, due to sheer exhilaration of feeling a powerful horse under me, It's bliss, my 'me time'. So yesterday, although no galloping due to muddy ground. Off riding in a minute for my daily fix....!
