hello , im in the debate of buying a trailer. My son wants to start competing and i only have about £2000-£2500 to spend. what age trailer would this buy me and where is the best place to look?

I bought mine from ebay its an ifor williams 510 which I needed for 2 big horses but most people manage with a 505 or 506 or equivalent size. The number one importance when I bought was that it didnt have a wooden floor - I would never trust one.
£2500 will buy you a decent 505 or equilavent but the bigger ones will be slightly out of price range.

Try preloved ebay and gumtree. I got mine through an ad I had put in preloved and gum tree. I was selling my lorry and was willing to take a trailer in part exchange ended up with a very nice Ifor Williams 510 Epona which my horses travel in better than they did in the lorry.

Hi - I bought my trailer through Ebay - got a bargin - Ifor William 510 (large one), 10 years old, with new electrics and aluminium floor in IMMACULATE condition for the bargin price of £2,500 - however, I literally was looking everyday and the lady had put the advert up without a picture and I called straight away - she was going to put the pictures up that night and had she have done, it would have gone immediately as £2.5k for a 510 in this condition is a bargin. Good luck!!

our riding club has a really good sales page & our local free paper (scot ads) has a good horsy section as well.

You'll get a very good condition IW505 under 10 yo for that price.

not sure where in the country you are, but i had mine from ralph bailey trailers in somerset, considering he's a dealer was quite reasonably priced and had a few to choose from, you also get a 6month guarantee, may be worth ringing to see what he has in your price range

eBay seem very good second hand ifor Williams at the minute

You have a good budget and you will definately get something decent

I'm onto my third ifor and wouldn't get anything else!!

505/510 is your best bet (the older style manufactured until 2007)
