Where did you get/buy your horse from?

Awww I love stories like that. Hate to sound like an old git trying to be trendy but - Respect :)

I got mine from a woman at our riding school. She was a fellow student and she had this ex-racehorse for 2 grand. Yeah ok not even interested. Make that a grand with full tack - ooh now I'm interested... Now I thought I always wanted a shire X TB. I stand corrected :)
 
My pony is a rescue pony from South Wales where I live and paid nothing for her.

She is a lovely pony even if she's not to everyone's taste and over the past 5 years we have done everything from jumping to cross country and even a little bit of stressage.
 
I found my girl on the project horse website.
Its not a site I would normally buy a horse from and at the time I wasn't actually looking to buy. Something attracted me to the advert though and I couldn't stop looking at it.
I went to try her and fell in love. Her old owner was 110% honest about why she was selling and the home was the most important thing.
She was by no means a project just a young green horse. She was shipped over from her breeder on the continent as a 2 year old and her old owner bought her from a reputable dealer in kent.
Haven't looked back since the day she came home last September!!
 
Heard about her through a friend of a friend. Saw her the year before, when I was first looking, but didn't like her then. Saw her again and fell in love. :)

Having gone across the country for horses, and down to almost the south coast for the trailer, she was the closest at ten miles up the road :)
 
My old girl was bought from the local paper she was 2yrs old them and was my xmas pressie when i was 10. i still have her and she is now 28 and ridden 4 times a week and is a nutter.
The roan in my sig. Ted was bought at York horse sales for £610 as a scrawny 3yr old, sold him in Sept 2009 as a SJ/ eventer. Now lost touch :O(
My section D was bought at auction for £630 as a 3 yr old, i had taken the horsebox and had some money left so also bought a cute section A filly who 7 months later gave us a coulered filly foal as a surprise gift ( yay freebie)
there is a few more but you get the idea.

Bought my first horse from a film yard in Reading, now closed, for ride and drive. I learned to drive with him. I still have him aged 31.

My CB's all came from CB breeders and my Shagya's from Hungarian National Stud. I have bred three, so far.

I bought my Highland from a friend.
 
Found my boy on Horsemart. Fate intervened, I'd been to see loads and was down to a choice of 2 then I went to get my hair cut at a local hairdressers. It's one of those late night places where you get loads of different stylists so rarely get the same one twice! I got chatting to the hairdresser who had not done my hair before and it turned out she was from Brownhills where Jasper was. She used to go out with the lad that used to loan him! She had ridden him and knew him quite well so was able to confirm all that his old owners had told me about him. I decided that I couldn't argue with fate like that and bought him, and I'm soooooo glad I did. He's wonderful and I love him loads :D
 
my first 6month old welsh mare ,i brought from a dealer about 1hr from me found in the freeads
my second my shire ,i got as a rescue ,brought him from a girl who had 8 other horses aswell as my shire ,in a field with one round bale between them and very under weight ,he was 30 mins from me and was found by word of mouth
my 3rd was my friesian who was by a dealer who told me a pack of lies ,part from the fact she was in foal ,mare turned out to have aggression problems and sever sweetitch and was 1hr 30 mins away and found on horsemart
and 4 is my friesian gelding who is the offsping above ,he is my baby and is a blank canvas which i like
