My mother wont talk to me, my dad knows nothing about horses, nobody else at the yard is likely to want to help much and my instructor sort of scares me
So I have 2 saddles - the dressage one rises a lot at the back and leaves darker sweat marks along the front edge. Its a Bates Caprilli dressage (with cair) and tbh I haven't been getting on with it for a while - I'm pretty certain it doesn't fit.
The other is a Bates Caprilli jumping, I love the position it puts me in, it's lovely, but not 100% about the fit. He has a lot of poles down when he jumps, and sometimes I wonder if the saddle isn't helping.
I HAVE decided that I will happily give up jumping for now, to just buy a good dressage saddle (so can sell both saddles).
But.... in order to buy a new (second hand) one, obviously I need money. I know some places part ex. but my mum insists that they aren't likely to 'give me' what the saddles are worth so I will still end up paying out more than I should as such.
So.... do I sell the jumping saddle & see how I get on when the saddler comes?
Sell both and give him time off whilst I find a new saddle?
Sell both and hope I can borrow a saddle that fits fairly well in the mean time?
I really don't know
I know I've brought this up so many times now, but my mother really doesn't care - to be honest, she doesn't even seem to like the horses, she doesn't want to talk to me, so I've given up trying. I don't like talking to people generally anyway so asking for advice scares me on it's own, prospect of phoning saddle fitter is terrifying but needs must!!
Help? :/
