Where do I stand?

How old are you? :)

It's very difficult to tell your parents/grandparents what to do when you are a child.
I think some of the posters are being a little judgemental.

Yes, you should OBVIOUSLY just swap back and sort your pony out. And yes, with hindsight it was a bad idea to swap for a hardly ridden brood mare.

You need to convince your mum that you need to swap back, sort your pony out, sell it then get something suitable for yourself.
That's what you need to do - now you need to work out how best to do it :)
Agree with this 100%. Well done mob jumping on an upset kid.

OP you must find someone in your family who is going to listen to you. I so feel for you you sound dreadfully upset and understandably so, on many levels.

Which adult in your family managed the swap?

Can you make them see, that they've been conned?

Best of luck love and keep us updated xxxx

Well my trainer obviously has horse knowledge but she doesn't think we should get the pony back because shes too small now. Like I said before it is a farm where the cows roam freely except for a small area around the house, stables and actual farm yard

Sorry but anybody with any common sense and Especially horse knowledge would be jumping the gun to get that pony back.

Ok can you not read? I have just explained why there is no foot access

SkewbyTwo- thanks, my grandad managed the swap but he believes that having the broodmare is best for me

If people think its a troll why dont ye just NOT comment, its so rude and disgusting to go around and shout troll at people who may not be a troll.
What if this is a 15 year old girl just looking for help!

Disgusting ? Tad OTT

Advice has been given throughout this thread just some needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

This is the OPs first post... they have been employed since the age of 8 and breaking horses in from the age of 10. And there is no way out of the farm on foot....

If there was any doubt noone would have called troll.

People here shout troll ALL the time, Im so sick of it. Iv been called a troll before and told I must be joking etc.
Its horrible to be on the end of it and some people here just like to go on the attack

You know, I think I've just about given up now. Don't bother helping me any longer I'll just swap back or sell or whatever but I really don't think I want another horse after this I'm just sick of the horse world and the people in it ect.

Thanks for all your help, I'll try

Snoopless says " What if this is a 15 year old girl just looking for help! "

Unfortunately this 15 year old keeps coming up with one excuss after another. Advice has been given but not taken.

good idea, take the advice that you were given on the FIRST page of the thread.

Well I never said that I wasn't go to take your advice in the first place but no one seems to understand that I've tried all I could to get her back.

I'm totally sick of all of this, I really hate the horse world and I don't want to be apart of it anymore

;) Advice was given from page one, the girls attitude towards the pony wa what caused my reaction, she didn't seem all that bothered about getting him back.

Read back what some of you have written. There has been absolutely NO justification for the insults, nasty comments and name calling towards this child.

That's CHILD, 15 year old asking for help, NOT adult.

You should be ashamed.

OP, what do you want a forum to do? You say your mother/grandfather/instructor won't help; you need to get an adult with some clout to speak to one of them.

Having read back I'm in agreement with Tessybear, etc.
"Well my trainer obviously has horse knowledge but she doesn't think we should get the pony back because shes too small now"

If OP has a trainer, and trusts him/her, then surely they are the adult on-side and should (a) know what OP needs to regain her confidence, (b) be concerned for both animal's welfare, (c) be knowledgeable about the situation and therefore be the best placed person to liaise between all the other adults involved to resolve the situation....and OP wouldn't need to post here???
The increasingly elaborate backstory rings alarm bells...

My dear girl, people are trying to help you, but as I have said you keep coming up with one excuss after another.

If you want to succeed in life you have to take the ups and downs, but because we love our animals sometimes this can be hard.

Its a forum we are allowed our own opinions, My personal opinion being if this is true (and not some elaborated sat evening troll thread) that regardless of the age OP doesnt seem concerned. I myself am a 'child' at 17 but would be showing a completely different attitude to this if no adult was willing to help me i would walk to the yard with something to put over the grid and swap the bloody horses round.
