Nearly the end of season :( we finish on the 18th and I can only get out once before then :(!! Had our end of season dance lastnight - feeling it today!!

But what a season, its the first season I have done it all properly, hound exercise, cubbing and then hunting!! Have loved every minute off it!! And can not wait til next season!!

Everyone else had a good season? When does everyone else finish?

We finish 27th March - and can't wait. Has been a terrible season with one thing and another! On the plus huntsman husband has a new job so things can only get better!! Roll on May 1st when we move to a new pack!! So excited!! :)

Count yourself lucky - our season finished last Tuesday (we always end at the beginning of March due to early lambing).
Fortunately we had a really good day with glorious sunshine, so went some way to making up for all the days lost due to the bad weather. Usuallly at this time of year I feel ready to stop but not this year, and would have loved to fit in a few more weeks, but such is life......

Awww sorry to hear your season wasn't very good ice maiden, hopefully the next one will be :)

Sidney, I forgot about all the awful weather, makes me grateful that we go into march, and hopefully some lovely sunny days to finish off!!

We'll finish on the 16th with a joint-meet. If you have got the hunting bug then fear not as there will be plenty of social activities going on over the summer months to keep you busy. You could also try visiting other packs that go on longer or going out with the local mink hounds. There are about 2 weeks of the year when I don't have the chance to go out with any pack at all.

17th April for us!!! Come and visit. Puppy show will then be upon us and we will have to don frilly frocks!! LOL. Am desperately wanting a holiday - a week of peace and quiet.
Our old pack finished yesterday.
Really happy no moving for us this year, we love it here and desperate to get new horse out next season.
For anyone moving on May 1st good luck with your new jobs, I sympathise with all the hard work it takes .

we finish on the 27th with a champagne breakfast, 2 mile cross country gallop, full hunt meet and day hunting, followed by strawberries and cream and more champagne for anyone who isn't already falling-off-drunk!!

anyone who wants to join us is more than welcome! PM me for details!

we have extended the season as lost so many due to ****e weather. we finish on 11th april. last meet for our huntsman too :( cant believe it's nearly over - have had such a ball and my horse is turning into such a superb hunter and a great hedge hopper.

Sorry for the delayed reply! For those that asked we are moving to The Barlow Hunt - so exctiting and really can't wait! So any of you that hunt with them make your selves known! I will need all the friends I can get!

My pony hunted for the first time this season, they started with the opening meet which was a bit of a disaster (not ponies fault!), jockey had to have 5 week out of the saddle and then once she and pony where fit enough again they couldn't hunt due to the weather :( Luckily we managed to get them out to the closing meet on Saturday where they both had a fab time, pony seems to love it :)

So all in all not the season we had hoped for (where hoping to get 8 - 10 days in) but at least both jockey and pony have come out of it in one piece and are already looking forward to next season!

I can't believe some of you still have weeks of hunting left, how lucky are you!!

It has been my first season with the Blankney this time and I have absolutely loved it. Very different to what I'm used to, and after a season with them I am still unsure about the dykes/ditches as they are a world away from B&BMH and Rockwood country's lovely walls and hedges. However, made a great deal of wonderful friends out this season and been sat on OH's wonderful horses, so I really cannot complain. :) Here's to the showing season!
