I'm sure there will be lots of posts similar to this but I've not quite figured out how to search forum posts yet, so apologies!
I rent a field, and currently have my horse and a friends cob on it. However friend has just let me know that her cob is up for sale, so I need a companion for my lad. (I know it might take a while for the cob to sell, but I'd like to try and get organised.)
Instead of having someone elses horse/pony, I'd like to have my own, as it'll be less complicated. The problem is I only have a small budget.
How much do you think it'll cost to find a nice companion pony? And where from?
I don't mind any age, or mare, gelding or even a colt (wouldn't mind paying to geld myself), but I need a friendly pony, who wouldn't mind being left on their own for an hour or so.
We have plenty of grazing, and adequate shelter, as well as a field shelter than converts into 2 stables in case of emergencies.
Thanks in advance
