Where to look for a horse

My instructor has mentioned she has a really good contact for a trotter, some kind of rescue she is involved in.

They are very overlooked, at least in Australia. I brought my first Standardbred last year, he is only 5 and while he has his quirks, he is the best trail riding horse I have ever had.

Re polo ponies, I had one who I reschooled to BE in under a year so they certainly don't have to stay being ridden one handed. He was the sweetest, easiest horse and absolutely bombproof.

Just be careful it wasn't shod and hammered on the road in a cart at 2 years old.

Her contact is abroad but I figure she knows them very well and knows me well now so could probably sort a decent match.

The one I had 20 years ago took to flat work like a duck to water, loved it. I wanted to jump at the time and he wasn't great at that so I sold him. He was also bombproof and easy and had no stable vices. He was a lot younger than the one I have now, though.
