Hi just wanted to know which one everyone prefered to do, riding or stable duties? I like doing both but i think i prefer a bit more to ride what about everybody else? Thanks

Stable duties, but then that could by just because I love my boy to pieces, and feel guilty riding him

I ride for fun, sometimes daily, sometimes not for months, depends what I feel like.
I no longer hunt so don't have to ride to keep the horse fit, neither does my daughter compete much anymore, so riding is very much as and when the fancy takes us.
Stable duties? I never stop. Everytime I clear the tracks it snows again, or a fence is broken, or a bale needs replacing...mucking out bores me rigid, which is why I don't do it unless I am paid to! Winter is hard work, sometimes I don't like horses very much at all

Riding - well that's why I have her but I spend 99% of the time doing stable duties and enjoy that too - and am a fastidious poo picker - something very calming about it

if ive been doing loads of stable/yard stuff then i cant wait to ride bu if all ive been doing is riding riding riding, i yearn for some mucking out to give me a break!!
