I need a slightly bigger girth for my dressage saddle and am in two minds!

What are people's opinions on Humane girths as apposed to elastic both end girths?

I have only ever used the elastic ended ones, but am wondering which is better for neddy!

Thanks!

I've only ever had elastic both ends - had a Thorowgood one first which was fine, now have an Albion which is lovely.

My friend's dressage girth straps have stretched unevenly so I think if that ever happens to mine I would consider a humane girth to even the pressure up (prob cheaper to get new girth straps though!

The danger with the humane girths is that it's really easy to over tighten them, as they pull up so easily.

I have double elastic ended thorogoods

issue with humane girths which I have seen happen at least a couple of times is one of the buckles done up incorrectly, slips= v overlong girth- slipping saddle.

obviuosly depends what speed you are going at the time but I wouldn't ever use one.

i always use elastic both ends, i got a cheap one, only £20 its a thorougood type one, and it still looks smart!

Ok, great that's all I need to know! Another elastic one then!

It's quite annoying because as she has grown and filled out I have now got three leather dressage girths which don't fit any more.

I'm a bit loathe to buy another leather one now tbh. They do look so much nicer though.
