My local show that is in walking distance actually has a class suitable for my arabs!
It's still dominated with various Welsh classes (plus Shetties and Shires) but I have decided that an arab surely fits in the in-hand sport/show horse class.
I will just take one as then the other two will be fine left behind together (and I then wont worry about them and can enjoy the show).
I want to take one of the younger horses, so which one should I take - the grey mare or the chestnut gelding?
She'll be calmer, actually has the slightly better conformation and will probably just stuff her face whenever she's allowed to.
However she is scarred having ripped herself open badly as a yearling.
He is much more bouncy (nothing awful) and I suspect that he'll really turn on the showman inside and will really enjoy himself. He is not in show condition, he's lean as he's just had a massive growth spurt however he's looking a lot more balanced and no longer rump high.
My first thought is to take him, but then if I take her it will probably be less stressful due to her taking everything in her stride - if i can catch her... ooooohh she's being a rotter at the mo.
