After briefly riding in some and noticing the difference immediately, I've decided that I need some - it's my birthday next week..

The type I tried were the Sprenger Flexible ones but notice they do the Bow Balance ones too which look good too - I sometimes struggle to get my right foot in when mounting so they would help a lot.

Bare in mind that I need as much help as possible with my position, which ones would you recommend?

Link so you know what I'm talking about..

Also, cheapest place to buy?

Many thanks for any replies.

They are the flexible ones in the link - had a look at both pairs in my local tack shop after my riding instructor was talking about them. The pair I have got were £70 from ebay - lady had bought the wrong size so only been used once!!

Can't wait to try them and if I like them may add the bow balance to my wish list!!

i have the black ones, bought them years ago before they became the new best buy and the price rocketed. i personally love them and cant stand the copies, theyre not the same as the sprengers, i have weak ankles which 'give' and my sprengers (compared to my 2 pairs of copies) have much more allowance in them.
Would love some bow balances but at present, i have no money and i wish theyd do them without the blue as theyd look smarter in competition.

I already have some of the cheaper flexible ones which are okay but have to say that the Sprenger felt lots better.

If you have seen them in the flesh - are the blue Bow ones exactly the same as the black ones but just have the twist and a wider tread i.e swivel the same etc? And look a bit naff?

We don't compete or show so not too worried what they look like.

Ive got both original springers and the bow ones.
the bow ones do look a bit naff when your foots out of the stirup but when your on i find that defiantly improve your lower leg making it more secure but still work the same as the normal ones i also think there safer as if you fall off you should be less likely to get your foot trapped
we got ours at one of the stalls at burghley and they were about the same price as the original ones

I have hunted in the bows all this season, have done wonders for reducing hip & knee pain.
Though if I 'lose' a stirrup I find them harder to get my foot back in than normal plain stirrups!
Could be because I 'know' where a normal stirrup hangs!?

Thanks for replies.

Think I'm going to go for the Bow ones as they seem to do the same as the others plus a bit more for the same price.

Interesting about not being able to 'find' them if you lose them - I'm hoping I'll be so secure I wont lose them in the first place... but I doubt it

You will definitley find you lose your stirrups less..that was one of the main benefits I found with them!

I don't find that I lose them but if I have taken my foot out to lean right over to do a gate or something. I do find that my foot does not slip straight back in!

I did it yesterday & it felt like my foot was trying to go through the leather rather than the stirrup!
All I could think of was of this post at the time!! LOL!
