I usually buy the 85% MgO because it is cheap, but my mare, who is the one who needs supplementation most, doesn't like it. I wonder if the purer stuff has less of a taste? Have also read about other forms of Mg - magnesium chloride and magnesium citrate, which are apparently more bioavailable. The only place I can find MgCl is Taycrest, and I assume they only supply in bulk. Has anyone tried this form? I can only find magnesium citrate for human use, not in large enough quantities to feed to horses.
Any thoughts anyone?
