Who else is waiting?!

We are we have 2 mares 340 days on sat but not looking nearly ready, and 1 who is 320 days tommorrow and has the biggest bag ever and is looking VERY close. Exciting isn't it. :)

Hiya

I have been lurking for a while and this is my first post. I have been reading your post whizz with interest and am looking forward to the one to say 'its here!'

My mare is due first week in June (based on 340) so i am waiting but no where near as close as you both.

Look forward to hearing from you anxious granny's to be! :D

I'm still waiting Whizz!! Think my lady is one day in front of you (technically!) but a fair few days behind you with her bag! She tends to go around a week over, but this year it certainly seems as though she is no hurry!

She is getting noticeably uncomfortable - but then so would I be if I was the size of a small country :D

I think you are nearly there.... how exciting!!!

Me n super abbey - glad you stopped lurking :) you must be excited!

Mugsgame - had your mare foaled before? She could still foal before my mare! Lol

(I'm now having strange dreams about the foaling!!) think I need therapy if she doesn't have it by end of week!

If your on foal watch have you seen changes in their pattern, like less or more times laying down etc?

One of the TB Mares has had several and last time went 375 days! The other TB is a maiden so we are keeping a close eye on her and the mare with the MASSIVE bag is a draught mare had 2 colts previously both born around due date but both foalings have been missed(with previous people) even with foaling alarms and sitting up, so as she is looking very imminent we are being extra vigilant as I am determined to see it being born!

We milk tested last year for the 1st time and it kept saying that she was know where near and then she had it at 8pm on day 341, so not bothering again will just do it the old fashioned way. :)

We will be 340 days on saturday also though not much has changed recently apart from a little bit of slackening behind so expecting her to go over. But as she is a maiden will be keeping vigilant.

She does alot of the belly watching especially when lying down, which is several times a night. It is handy watching them early-ish as her routine seems to be pretty solid at the moment and still eating everything up.

Currently she will lay down ( so far about 5 times a night),sometimes flat out but if so not for long. Gets up,does the toilet, has another standing sleep then goes back to her hay for a while then back to sleep again.

She is a bit of an old timer - usually goes a week (ish) over but normally has a good bag, so will be a surprise if things change quickly in the next few days! I am excited but also when it gets this close I just want it over and done with so you know your mare is okay!

My other two are due within four days of each other third week in April - one always goes a little early with not the best bag and the other is a maiden - so at this rate they could almost all go together lol! :D

For some reason my phone and laptop wont talk to each other so unable to upload any pics :( - new phone on order so I am betting it will be here before foaly!

I have a pure-bred CB due early April but she is starting to bag up. I will be on night duty this weekend and hope that with the warm south westerlies she will decide to go for it next week.

I'm a lurker too, but feeling brave so here goes!:)

I have a maiden mare now at 329 days after covering (only covered once, 16th April) so far we have a nice pointy tummy, in fact yesterday I went into stable and asked my mare where her foal had gone as it was no longer sticking out pear shape style!

She also has a nice pair of pony boobies, with what looks like the start of some wax on them, but as she is maiden am not sure how big her boobies will get! She is also nice a soft either side of her tail, compared her with both my other mares, and definately squidgy squidgy!!

Really not sure how far off she is, am thinking maybe this weekend or early next week, anyone got any ideas?!

we are Whizz105, we are on 329 today she on no 5 lost last years filly on 227 filly year before we were 330 colt year before that 334 filly and then 336 colt she has a pointy tummy also and is beginning to slack off, tail head is very loose now, bag is very slow she would not entertain me talking photos let alone touching her she is a madam of the highest order.

Welcome Elleskywalker!! Is the vulva loose? Wrinkle free?

I feel so much better hearing how yours are all doing!

Tonight Bella's milk is thick and creamy and had to shake it a bit it get it mixing with the water! So hoping foalie will arrive this week!!

Its got a few wrinkles, no where near as many as normal, but cleverly I didn't think to take a 'before' picture so although it has def been changing over the last few days, I can't judge by how much! it doesn't seem to have elongated much but again, no frame of reference!

Any other things I should be checking for? I can't get any milk to test as too stroppy/kicky when I try to feel the boobies let alone try and get anything out of them!

Have got a camera in the stable (been in there for 2 weeks) which is watched religiously, and have a good idea of general routine. She is perhaps sleeping a little more than usual, mostly lying down, but nothing too out of the ordinary, she has also been ravenous for last 2 days.

Should mention mare been in boxrest since before Christmas with laminitis (not due to fat/over feeding but caused by concussion from frozen ground or frosted grass) Ironically I have always been super vigilant and always brought my horses in during the day in winter to avoid them eating frosted grass, but this year with her being in foal and having sight problems with joints (not hereditary) I though she would be better off out all the time............. D'oh!

She currently goes out for 2 hrs twice a day, if weather is ok, ie not frosty, or sunny after rain.

Good luck Whizz hope your foal comes soon - the waiting is the worst bit isn't it?

My mare is due a week today but she has a really small bag so can't see the foal arriving on time!!! Belly is getting large though!

the waiting is the hardest part! , i have a maiden whos due around 1st week may, she's been really really quiet till the last week when she's decided to do the wall of death around the field :-( she frightens the life out of me !!! she's also showing interest in the boys more and more - if i didnt see little foalie kicking the hell out of her i would be worried she'd lost it and was comming back into season, so perhaps its a little filly ???

she's starting to get bigger by the day now and there is a little odema on her tummy starting from her every so slightly puffy boobies (she's a little bit puffy in the morning but by afternoon they've gone right down to nothing again) i was worried as this is really early to start doing this but as they have been going back down hope things are ok???

cant wait to start seeing all the lovely foalies arrive, best of luck over the weekend for deliveries, and look forward to seeing some pickies !!

shame you cant get milk, but at least your in place watching and waiting!

Angrove, does sound like it will be soon! exciting! fingers crossed all goes well xx

JP - Waiting is DEFINATLY the worst part!! forget waiting for scans!! this beats it hands down! Your mare sounds interesting, is she maiden?

Monkstc01 - sounds normal to me! regarding the wall of death - know how you feel as Bell's did that the other day!

My mare is due mid April, and started bagging up two weeks ago. Her edema has spreed to the girth area now, not to worried as vet says this can be normal for many mares in foal, and because she is a fine build t/b, will show more lumps and bumps (so to say) I think she may foal early!!!!!!, she is a maiden so have nothing to go by.
Whizz I think your mare will foal very soon? any wax on her teats yet?

Juno is 340 days on March 28th. She has foaled before but not with me so I have no idea whether she actually gets huge or not, at the moment, compared to Robin the Juggernaut, due end April, (who has dropped exactly on 340 - twice:D ) she has me wondering if she is pregnant at all!

But... her bag is getting fuller, muscles are dropping away on quarters and she's beginning to look 'ribby' No idea what she has in her udder as I like my teeth in my head not spread around the stable! I am not pushing the issue unless I have to, not worth upsetting her.

Just started bringing her in at night (she is NOT amused!) and I do evening stables anyway so we'll see how she goes on, I don't test milk other than draw a bit to see what colour it is. Foals come when they come, fortunately my barn is just outside the backdoor so checking is hardly a case of camping out for weeks as some poor souls do.

Hello all, My maiden mare is due on the 19th April. This is going to be my first foal so I'm really excited. I'm already having sleepness nights just thinking about it!

One mare now 351 days whose yellow milk is just starting to turn cloudy yellow, her last foal was born on 320 days. One at 315 days bagging up nicely and looking like she will go around 325 days again like she has with her last two. Another 320 days today and not bagging up yet, she foaled on 347 days last year, and then a maiden mare who is 325 days today and has a bit of yellow wax tonight, not got a large bag but it looks full.

Blimey Enfys! You wouldn't think Juno's foaled before! Maybe she will suddenly drop?! ;)

Beano1 - how exciting and nerve wrecking for you!! Expect many more to come! :)

Bella's wax has been yellow/White, clear and now White. Her milk tonight was thick and cloudy and took some shaking to mix with water!

Really can't wait to see everyones foals!! :)

We have 3 mares on the cameras at the moment and we're on night 21 of foal watch! *prises eyes open*
Mare number 1 is 3 weeks over and showing no sign whatsoever. Fully bagged, tiny bits of wax on and off, muscles still tight and bump hasnt moved back :(
Mare number 2 is a week and a bit over and showing all other sign apart from wax. Muscles have dropped away, foof is a-gaping and belly is in prime position for spitting out but still nothing :(
Mare number 3 is due on the 11th and is almost fully bagged, thinking about wax, muscles are like a nice squishy bouncy castle and foof is like the grand canyon..but still no babies :(
x

enfys your juno is like abby is i think. She is 8 months so we still have a way to go but she is hiding it well. I can see changes as she has always been like a tube and now has a nice round belly. The vet said the build she is she could hide it very well so not to worry.

I love seeing the pics of all these yummy mummys, cant wait for pics of the babies.

I will try and get my profile sorted and get some pics of the big abby on here. She looks like a ragamuffin at the minute though :o
