I am just wondering, after you ride, do you untack your horse first then take of your gear?
I always untack my horse first even if i am hot etc, i wear a body protector too, which does get warm some days.
I just notice most other people take their gear off first then they do the horse, i prefer to untack the horse first and see to them.
How about you?

I loosen girth after getting off, lead horse into stable, remove saddle. Take off my own hat, remove bridle, then remove her hi-viz boots as I brush her off.

I untack whilst he has a wee and eats the nice grass near the stables and then turn him out before I do anything for myself. Might take my hat off on a hot day but thats about it

If I have been xc and have a body protector on, if its hot I will take that off during untacking/washing him. Sometimes I'm just too hot otherwise!

I always take the bridle of first as charlie doesn't like being tied up with his bridle still on, I then usually take my hat and gloves of as I am walking the short distance to the tack room and hang the bridle and hat (with gloves in) up at the same time.

Then off comes the saddle and brushing boots. I don't have anything else to take off myself so it's not really an issue.

Generally I put her in her stable and take her saddle off, I then put that in the tack room and remove my gear, then go back for the bridle. I can see her all the time and as there is nothing in her stable for her to get caught on this works well for me.

Him first - always. I always have a hat on for working around feet and, especially given the herd he is out with includes a young and overly friendly monster I keep my bp on for turning out.

Not always pleasant but it is my choice to ride not his and anyway safer. :-)
