I know we've had a little patch of hot weather, but otherwise who is rugging and in what?

My ISH isn't in a rug yet, I am going to try and not rug until end Oct.

Still in sweetitch rug, if we get heavy rain at night then she goes in a rain sheet. Nothing else yet as I would boil her!

Mines had lightweight on & off all summer at night. Got one on today as its very cold & windy after a gorgeous few days of sunshine

Nothing on the two native fatties but my TB has a rain sheet on. Just before the hot spell he was up to 100g, then naked during the hot spell. Will probably up it to 100g if it drops any colder as he drops weight easily.

My wb has been in lw rugs for the last month or so; apart from a couple of 'nice' days the weather has been horrific up here :( Has turned cold now as well so will be in mw from now on (not clipped yet). Why do I get the feeling it's going to be a very long winter?

My TBXWBXID is naked, when it rains she has a no fill rain sheet on. I'm hoping to keep her naked until end of Oct as she will be clipped then.

My WB is in a 200g with neck, is out 24/7 at the moment, and is being clipped on weekend so will put a fleece with it, untill Nov time and will move up to a HW

My idxwbxtb is naked and will be most of the winter unless it's really bad then he'll be in a lw! My tb exracer is naked at the moment, although he's normally in a fly rug but looked like it was going to rain!, he's been in his lw the past couple of nights. If it drops anymore at night he'll be in a mw and possibly a lw in day until really gets cold! Once winter hits and he's in at night, he'll be well rugged up!

my tb (abnormally toast rack-esque) is in medium weight turnout and if in maybe just his fleece but he is fully clipped as grew a mammoth coat in early september!!

Highland yearling and trace clipped veteran cob both naked out 24/7. Fully clipped out highland is in a rain sheet at night and naked in the day, also out 24/7.

Just put a lw on mine tonght as the forecast is down to single figures, the wind is up, there's a good bit of rain around and it feels VERY cold and wintery outside. Also noticed that he's dropped some weight recently and as he was just about right before he dropped it, I don't want him going into winter on the poorer side of right :)

My WB is fully clipped and a good weight. She is out during the day in at night in a lightweight sheet.....we are in Scotland and its extremely windy- meant to be 7 degrees by the end of week....

My boy who lives out 24/7 has a 100g on, purely because a no fill isn't truely waterproof!

We never got a hot spell; all we have had is torrential rain for past week!!

Mines in a 200g with neck at night and a 200g without by day and he's not even clipped yet! He is a bit of a whip though :p

Mine arent clipped, ebony is half welsh so is very fluffy so i see no point but the other doesnt seem to have as big winter coat as ebs yet is still naked so there both naked when out during day and in there stables at night, everyone else at the yard is wearing 1/2 rugs.. yet i still think its kinda too warm for rugs? :o:p

My Welshie is out during the day, not clipped and naked. In a night but still no rug yet. He is a fatty :)

My ISH is fully clipped. Out during the day in a fly sheet as its been so warm and in at night naked. She is a hot horse though :)

Hot weather ... what hot weather :p Weve had rain, rain and more rain ... oh and some wind and more rain!! My ISH's been rugged all summer tbh, shes now clipped so is in a Combo heavyweight (360g) stable at night, fleece and wool rug during the day and 400g turnout when out. I find our yard windier than any other yard iv been at due to it all being flat.

Mine has had a lightweight on all summer at night (sometimes with additional fleeces/ lw stables underneath, he's now in all time ( at college riding school) with a 340g stable rug on at night and a 200g during the day. But he does lose weight at the blink of an eye and has extremely thin skin so doesn't keep warm :( he may end up with 3 rugs in the winter :P

I intend to not rug this winter. I have access to a stable and rugs if weather turns really bad. Rain is expected tonight but is not cold. I will play it very much by ear according to weather and condition of pony.

Captain- the world's biggest woss WB has his lite stable rug on. Been rugged out in lite and medium/lite rugs because of rain. Will be rugged from now until end of April, at least! He has very thin coat and feels the cold.
Fany - is unrugged and will be until she is clipped at the end of October, then just lites and medium lites through the winter, unless it gets very cold.
