Couldn't ride yest as it was howling a gale & every time I thought I might be able to sneak out, it started sleeting.

Heavy snow here this am, but it was melting all morning & suddenly at 3 pm the sun came out... so rushed out, tacked up & went in the arena. It started sleeting after about 25/30 mins so nearly came in as it was really blowing in our faces. It stopped before I managed to get the gate open, so changed my mind & carried on for the full 45 mins.

Got Adrian all bundled up again & out with his dinner... feel v glad I seized the opportunity as it's now snowing v hard again. I get so restless when I can't ride.

I rode and walked with my mate! Jumped some logs down in this foresty effert then went up a hill and across a bridle pathand videod my mate jumping this mahoosive log

Was snowing quite persistantly this morning, but daughter kept pestering me to take her out for a hack! And OH was agreeing with her!

Needless to say we didn't hack out this morning, but snow stopped by lunchtime so we went out for a quickie this afternoon!

I rode, in great company, for a couple of hours.

Did a fair bit of absolutely nothing in the arena, but loved every minute of it....was just nice to be left alone, 3 of us able to chat, relax enjoy, then a wee walk out....
total relaxation after a early morning job call out.

Some days.... I just life with the horses!!!

Glad to hear you managed to squeeze some in!

Our part of the world didn't have so much as a hint of snow today (well there was a moment of cold wet flakes for about 20 seconds and then it stopped)
Beautiful sunshine and not much wind either
smile.gif

I just schooled for 40 mins or so and he was a good boy. Very tired after his XC antics yesterday (pics in gallery) so he had his head on the floor immediately before and after to make sure I got the hint!
He's had his tea and is out for the night again

I rode yesterday - had an absolutely fantastic jumping lesson, it was very windy but somehow the jumps stayed up! (pics in gallery if your interested x)

Didn't ride today - sand school, and even once the snow had melted the school was totally flooded.

Need to get a ride tomorrow! Got TB 2nd rounds on wednesday!!!

Got out for a good hour and a half, got stuck under a fallen tree (it had broken in half and was hanging in the way of the path) to the amusement of my buddies!!! Still had a good, joggy ride around. Was like exercising a load of hyper race horses!! (they are ex racers i suppose...)

No snow here today, infact quite a nice day except a bit cold! Was meant to be hunter trialling but it was cancelled so didn't have much to do.
Went out for a hack- mum on my horse Tara, me on Lady and my sister on her horse
smile.gif
Was great- Ladys second ever hack and she was really good, I even trotted her in the lead up a quite road
grin.gif
Then we took her in the field with the cows (she is petrified of them) and she was really good (untill one started walking towards her, she didn't like that much

)!

Went down to river and fields for a steady canter, then snook through a factory car park near council tip, then onto cycle track next to dual carriageway, then rode through shopping center and then back onto lane back to yard.

I rode today and yesterday.
Yesterday I hacked Hattie but it was so windy I couldn't hear traffic so I took Gyp in to the fields for a trot about.
Today I hacked Gyp up to see my parents who were doing some fencing in their summer field. It wasn't so windy here today.

me!! i rode and jumped!!!!(for those that dont know i dont ride oftern!!!) had planed a hack but we are grounded due to strangles :-( so schooled for a bit and jumped!! was lovely here today cold in the slight wind but dry!!!

I did! It was blowing a gale and pi**ing it down with rain, but we have an endurance ride next weekend, so no rest for the wicked!!

Was quite nice really once i was out - there is only so wet you can get!!

I managed to get out for a quick half hhour hack round the roads this afternoon. He was on his toes and spooky to say the least but we got round in one piece!

I didn't ride as there was too much snow and then rain, which means we haven't practised our 'show' or jumping for tomorrow. Spent the day trying to make George look vaguely presentable which is hard when it's too cold too wash, my fingers nearly froze whilst I was plaiting - oh the joys!

Schooled my girl on the flat for about 30mins mainly doing flexing exercises, then did some trotting poles then a couple of jumps then walked down lane. She was a little star but still needs work on right rein.
smile.gif
After we'd finished I gave her a Reiki treatment and I left her totally relaxed falling asleep at back of her stable - Bless

managed to ride with my sharers today and managed to get get a photo of them too ( see picture gallery!) it was Bl**** freezing though and I am still waiting for my feet to defrost!

To much snow to do much.

I lunged Spider first thing before he went out, but as it balled up in his feet just lunging I decided I wouldn't bother with Q. He was washed & plaited for dressage but too horrid to get the box out, so I withdrew & he went out in the snow all clean & plaited..... much to his delight at having got out of work

Typically by mid afternoon it had stopped & was starting to melt

Had to ride as Murphy had yesterday off and with the grass starting to come through he needs lots of exercise. Went in the school and we argued about canter leads as usual he won!!

We got our horses in and tacked up then it started to blow a gale and sleet so we went into stables again, I was actually sitting on my pony but he didn't care we just stood looking out the door. When it stopped after about 5 minutes we went up the road round the housing estate and back through the fields. Had a bit of a blast and thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was a bit cold.

Weather isn't that bad here, compared to last weeks storms.

Just around the block this morning, instead of the 'Easter jog' (Family thing) I sent my sister out while I finished tacking up but didn't give her the best directions, I went at a good pace so couldn't understand why I hadn't past her and she wasn't back before me. I don't think she'll me trusting my directions again

I rode one of my friends horses in their lovely indoor school that I get to use first thing this morning. Then I rode dad's driving pony in the school - and got all brave and did a few jumps! (first time I have jumped in aaaagggeess!!) Then took driving pony out into the daffodil fields and had a nice canter around. Only problem with doing that with Ruby is that she is only 13.2 and she has a "thing" about jumping in all the puddles. I came back quite muddy......

I went out. Haven't ridden in snow for years as we don't get it much so we hacked out for 45 mins in the thick of it and I sang as many songs about snow as I knew on our way round!

I managed to ride my horse this evening for the first time in 9 months

Ive been lunging her for about a week and she was soo good I though sod it and just got on and did a couple of laps round the school
grin.gif

The funny thing is she feels much better after 9 months off than when she did before

I rode this morning at 7:30am

It was sleeting and sooooooooo cold but at least it wasn't too windy. The last few days have been really windy.

Luckily, we have an indoor school. Makes such a difference.
