I took my younger Flatcoated Retriever to the vets today just for her annual vaccination.
She marched in, wagging as always to see how many people she could persuade to make a fuss of her. She greeted the vet, loved being checked over and even wagged when the needle went in.
She has never really had a scary visit as she has only been for her vaccinations but she has been spayed.
My lurcher on the other hand always hates going, but she has been stitched up a couple of times after too much bunny hunting!

It sends my young GSD into a total meltdown of joy. There are people, dogs, people who like dogs, smells, a weight thing to stand on, and sometimes... cats!

He yodels from the moment we get in until we go out - proper, full on talking (other GSD owners will know what I mean). The vets always comment on how wired he is, but he's an angel to deal with (never upset by anything).

He likes the vets... I don't like it. It's tiring taking him.

Yep my eldest greyhound loves it - she has been there often enough!!! Even after her 3 day stay last November she still goes in there very happily, and is never phased by what goes on in there.

In the last 7 years I have owned her she has had multiple dentals (at least four or five), blood tests, two broken toes, one broken foot, one salivary gland infection following a dog bite, and her 3 day panic with a suspected tumour last November which has turned out to be nothing.... I hate to think what her total vets bill total, but she is worth a million times anything I could pay :) :)

Mine LOVES it, he's a wagging mess and will often try to leave through the back with the vet. He's twice been sedated/GA and has been handed back to me by a nurse who's told me that the sedation has worn off... as soon as we get home he's zonked but he's so thrilled to be at the vets he fights the sedation. I think it helps that he does puppy dog eyes and usually ends up performing tricks for treats for the receptionist!

Ha funnily enough I was only thinking about this the other day, while sat in the vets with Button.

She absolutely ADORES going to the vets and I think she sees it as the perfect opportunity to get as much fuss off as many people in as short a time as possible. Anyone who comes through the door is immediately treated to lots of bum wagging and soleful (fuss me) eyes!!

Kiera isn't fussed either way but she does get bored, if we've hung around too long and starts to bark.

Rufus is a nightmare!! He hates the place and has to be muzzled, even for a basic examination. Luckily we don't go very often.

Ours is an absolute monster, we have to hold onto him to stop him jumping off the table and the vet muzzles him to stop him acting in self defence (as he sees it). Once I said, with perfect truth, 'He's a little teddy bear at home' and got a very disbelieving look off the vet.

Mine don't mind at all - I do work there though so you'd hope they'd be used to it!

We get through about 2kg of dog biscuits a month on the front desk in the name of creating positive associations with the vet. :p

Mine loves going, partly because my sharer, who he adores, works there. He's had some uncomfortable treatments there but hasn't put him off :)

Both my flatties love it. Helps that they went to puppy class there for a month and got lots of biccies and also my housesitter is the vet nurse so they pull our arms out to get to her.

Oh lol. My dog has to be carried in, trembles while she's there and rushes out the door at 100mph!

Some of your dogs seem to think it's a nice outing!!

Had one who hated it and was aggressive with her hatred of it, 1 who is totally indifferent and another who absolutely loves it - I mean what's not to love it's a place filled with potential new best friends both canine and human

My lab LOVES it!! I've taken him recently for the first time since he was a pup (he's now 8) and he thought all his Christmases had come at once! People to talk too, food to sniff, toys to stare at! Very VERY waggy tail throughout and the vet had difficulty examining him due to him being so giddy and rolling over in sheer delight when ever she touched him. Crazy dog.

He's being castrated soon so not sure he will be feeling quite so happy about the place then.....:biggrin3:

This.. just swap GSD to a 5yo lab. :D

All three of mine love it - they have all done basic obedience, and will walk nicely, sit, etc - until the moment we get out of the truck at the vets - and then it all goes to pot. They are like a husky team - so beside themselves with excitement, that all their training goes out of the window - I have to get OH to help me get them to the vets for jabs, as they're a bit strong for me by myself. They tend to want to 'talk' while in the waiting room, and jump up every time a vet calls someone in, hoping it's their turn. Once in the vets room, they are all desperate to be the one on the table! I've never seen dogs so happy to be at the vets as mine!

my girl loved going until the last year or so. She still likes going into the waiting area but doesn't like going through to the consulting room - but then every time she goes (every 3 months or so) she gets her ver sore hips pulled about a bit and blood taken, once she's had her exam she's happy as larry

My previous lab would pee on the floor in fear but the present one sees it as a very exciting outing. Dogs, cats, humans and they have food and treats in the waiting room. He's very happy to be there but he will not take a treat from anyone but me. Vet is puzzled as labs are normally greedy but not this one. He's only been there for vacs, neutering and check up after the op.

My little wonky legged Labrador loves the vet. He thinks it's a wonderful place to go.
Everyone someone's name is called he leaps up ready to go in!

Jack loves it (but is a grump about them doing certain things...but that's pain related) and Fizz seems to love the waiting room but when we went back post spay she was a little wary until she got some treats ;)

Ace loves the vet. Or anyone really (unless they are outside, in which case they must be barked at unless attention is given). Last time he treated the vet to some french kissing :o No wonder she commented that we need to be brushing his teeth....
