who's having a bet on the National tomorrow?

I have just placed my bets! Not saying who I bet on though as I probably won't win! Have gone for a few each way shots rather then one to win.

My and my OH have put £2 each way bet on 4 or 5 horses I think, no idea he was in charge of the betting slip

*crosses fingers* we both could do with some money right now!

I've bet on Black Apalachi and L'Ami. £2.50 each by on-line via WilliamHill. they've given me a £5 free football bet - hmmm, something for the other half I think.

Just put £5 on each way (don't ask me what that means!!) on Kil....(something) Blade 20/1

and £1 at work on the sweep stake on Cloudy day !

Dont worry I am not addicted to gambling!! lol

I have put a bet on 5

I liked the names of the others hence choosing them.

State of Play, because he's trained by Evan Williams, a local trainer, and I've been to his yard

You've pretty much summed up my reasoning too

Last grey to win was Nicholas Silver. I was 11 years old, my sisters and I were allowed to bet a shilling each way and my sister won he was 9-1.

No doubt we would all be taken into care now!!! Oh happy days AND we could canter on roadside verges.

With the National, it's as good a reason as any

OK hes mine then and My Will (if thats right) cos I worship Ruby Walsh!
I used to canter on the verges...my son does now (hes 8 and will definately be off into care)

Edited to add, I won £30 on Rough and Tumble, John Francombe) as a child and bought my pony a summer sheet from Sandon Saddlery, it was dead posh!!

I have bet on two of the jockeys more than the horses, Nick Schofield who used to be my daughter's biggest threat in show pony classes and Tony MCoy because I only ever saw him race once, and he stood out as a fantastic natural rider.
I sometimes play games of choosing the winner in televised races, and can virtually always say 5 out of 7 times who will win from when they start. The downside (and why I rarely bet) is it only works once the race starts, so I can't help choose any winners!
If I watch a race often you can see just one horse cruising along hardly fighting just literally holding himself ready, and most times, that's the one that wins unless it falls.
Now if I had some method of betting after a race started I'd be very rich very quickly

At work I have State of Play and Hear the Echo. Both have pretty good odds (get me and my patter

) so thinking about putting a wee flutter on.

State of play, i like Evan Williams ever since i saw the documentary of him trying to train that guy as a jockey!!

I put my bets on and didn't realise I picked the 2 favourites - My Will (because it can jump) and Butlers Cabin (surely must be APs time?) and then also Black Apalachi, L'Ami (for no appareant reason and Rambling Minster (because he's from the North East). I've put the grand total of £1 each way on each of them so we are talking big money here! I'll have to hope for a couple of them coming home in the first 4 or I'll not even make my stake money back!
