That's for sure! Hope it all gets sorted and she starts taking care of her horse

After a lengthly discussion with YO it looks like she's going to be given notice. It's a shame about the horse but once she's gone we'll notify BHS welfare.
I am a bit confused are you saying she left her horse in its stable for three days without turning up or arranging alternative care and you just made sure it had water and occasionally some hay?
If so that is terrible it is not sufficient at all, the horse should be mucked out and feed every day and turned out not left abandoned in its stable for days on end.
That just would not happen at our yard, YO would do the jobs and the livery would be charged.
It is the responsibility of the owner to sort out alternative care if they are unable to come to the yard and are on DIY. If YO was away who did this livery think would look after her horse. It sounds like she needs to be on a full livery yard and if she behaves like this on other yards she will soon be in trouble or thrown off.
ThanksFor obvious reasons we're waiting until she goes before getting welfare involved.
She actually turned up tonight - gave her horse some hard feed but neglected to give him hay or water...Luckily I arrived afterwards and made sure he was fed and watered.
NeilM in some cases it gets worst, the one near me is worse as they come, as she's got the horse up for sale. We are trying to track down the horses owners at the mo
I'd just like to say a big 'well done' to Pet-ID for passing on the message, and tracking the owner of the horse down!![]()
Just read whole thread.
OMG!
So glad that the real owner is now involved and hopefully will be back with owner soon.
I have exactly the same problem which i raanted about yesterday!
Its so annoying and im just a "livery" at the yard so there is not much i can sayto her myself. But i would definetly inform your YO about an abused horse, because not going up to your hose 1 a day when stable and leaving it with no fresh water, is dusgusting and is what i see abuse.Infast im pretty sure the Rspca would have something to say. My YO would personally ask her to leave and call the Rspca before they left, as my yards just very strict like that! But her horse is her responsibilty, unless its on loan, then the bes person to contact wpuld be the owner![]()
