I did madam yesterday, as it was her first time and I didnt want her to be TOO hairy so it was a quicker, easier job for her
tongue.gif
but was surprised at how much hair came off!!

Who else has clipped already?

No, i debated it before yesterday but put it off. He was warm but not too warm yesterday but there is no way i'll get through 3 more events with out doing it.

I really hate clipping with a passion!!! Also discovered last winter clipping greys is even worse as it's really hard to see where you have and haven't done....or perhaps i'm just rubbish at it?!

yes i did just over a week ago and he needs doing already. He is going to wait a week though i think as hes not doing much this next weekend.

I really want to get my boy done as he is super hairy already and getting very hot. I've got another 2 events to do and then was going to give him November off so trying to avoid clipping BUT would love to have him done so he's a bit more comfortable.

However, the YM (who is the only person allowed to clip on the yard) is going into hospital for an operation today so will be out of action for a few weeks

did mine a little bit a couple of weeks ago. Needs doing again really, but not doing much over next few weeks, so will wait until all hair has come through.

trying to avoid it at the moment...after about 2 days he manages to grow out his first clip of the season. I'm rubbish so have to pay someone to do it.

How many times in a season do you clip your horses? He needs about 5 as he's hunting every week

Not yet.... I pay someone to do it, so I am putting it off as long as poss

He is a TB so theoretically shouldnt get too woolly, and we arent doing much at the mo so he isnt getting too warm
smile.gif

Having said that I am dying to get him clipped because to me he looks woolly and untidy

I am trying to hold off Tink, I dont really want to clip her unless I have to before Weston when she will have a holiday afterwards.
I need to clip Mary but I will wait until she is past the walking stage.
Max, there would be nothing to clip

he has an amazing coat, but is a very hot horse.

I have done Baileys twice already! He is a connie cross though and is convinced it is going to get very cold anyday now so is growing hair faster than I can clip it off!

Mine is the same, we've done 2 already and she's ready for a 3rd now as she takes so long to dry off after work

Hi have clipped once 4 weeks ago and desperate for his 2nd!! I can't see where his first clip was now. Will be done this week. I normally have to clip from end August every 3-4 weeks, it then slows up a bit around november and last clip is normally December as he starts casting his winter coat out in January (hardly sensible!!).

Haha! Madam has a very TB coat, and everyone on the yard said I was mad to clip her as she had no coat... until they saw how much had come off

wink.gif
She does look very smart now, am pleased I have done it

Mum has done grada she did her saturday and she has gone a really funny colour, like black lines down her, !!!.
Not done Twizy yet though, thinking about it next week after Oasby alothugh probs wont be much point then as she doesnt have many more events
x

Not a chance! Having clipped Carthorse every 3 weeks all year round for the last 2 years I'm rather enjoying having a delicate Fugly who hasn't got a stray hair to his name!
grin.gif

Haha! I know, I should have left it to make the most of having a non cob pony
tongue.gif
wink.gif
But thought it was easier to do whilst there isnt too much there... though she was rather lively afterwards

And Fugly is many things, but "delicate"isnt one word I'd use for a 17hh 4yr old

Might get him done before we go dressaging on Saturday then

Nope, Queenie is having a couple of months off starting in 2 weeks so no point in clipping for one more event (although she is a bit like a teddybear!).
Am going to clip the 4yo soon though
smile.gif

Not yet, Snoop hasnt grown much of a coat yet and winston isnt in full work.
Shall hold off. Only had to clip once last year after leaving it till November.
