Why am I making extra work for my self?

Thought so (I've got 3), he should be fine in the heat, but not with flies - mine all hate 'em. Best thing is a shelter or run-in shed that is dark so they can get in when they want to. You'll still have to muck it out, 'tho.

He's got the 12 year old neighbour helping him now :D

In during the day, out at night, particularly if there is water nearby and the risk of sweet itch. Dawn and dusk are bad times if you have fly issues so also bad timing, tbh.

Mine is in during the day during summer and in over night through the winter - but she is a high maintenance cob who fall over with sleep deprivation when out 24/7 so she does have to come in for a proper sleep.
