Why are there no blue or green horses?

Does my blue roan count as a 'blue horse'?! :o

It's annoying, I've got comment after comment saying these ponies are fat ¬¬ well yea, that's why it's called My Little Pony, not My Little Thoroughbred!!

I looooove them! I know why they say they are fat because the tune used to go... "my little poneeeee, skinny and boneeeee...."

Was there not a specific blue MLP with a turquoise mane for CPT?

Much as I would love a deep turquoise mane and tail on a black horse, the fact is that the only pigment mammals can produce is melanin which gives us the range of colours we are familiar with from black through browns and reds to pale colours. Other animals can use the pigments in food they eat to colour themselves, and some colours, such as blues in birds, are created by a physical property of the surface. It's all very clever!

Jftd: can't quote as on phone but my ex used to turn blue post coital... Is that the same thing he was a bit of an ape ;)

Phew, and I thought the monkeys' blue faces were a pigment of my imagination! :p

Its no use.

This thread has got me thinking how cool it would be if I had a blue horse and a green horse.
