Why are you not just giving?

I should...

I wasn't asking anyone to justify their choice and if people feel pressurised by my silly little vote then they really need to grow a spine

To be fair - your poll did include 'Other - please explain'.

And the tone does suggest that everyone should be giving.....

I think you mean get a backbone

Oh gosh I just realise the charity is for spinal injuries, I really should have worded that better

no offense meant to anyone, I meant it in a purely metaphoric manner.

PS

I think you suffer from what's called Foot & Mouth Disease sometimes, you open your mouth and put your foot straight in it lol

I live locally to Robert Jones & AH hospital (did you know that was where the name for the bandage came from) and do support it, I also had a friend who was treated in there after a fall from her horse, they do a great job. I donate to some charities on a regular basis, and others when funds enable me to. I think it is likely I will donate to Godiva, however I am not too sure this thread will help the cause, perhaps just a general reminder about Godiva and a link to the page might have been better.

Really? I didn't mean it to sound that way, I'm personally not giving because neither I nor none of my loved ones would ever benefit from such a specialist centre.

I prefer to give to national charities espeially if I was trying to get a large demographic to do the same. Had it been the Brooke, ILPH I would have went for it or maybe even some of larger UK human charities.

I'm skint just now, but plan on donating at a later date.
I'm far too chicken to get naked for it, so I'll show my support for the brave guys and gals of HHO in the only way that I can, and that's with some money
grin.gif

I have no desire to see a bunch of women (and some men) flashing their bits tastefully or otherwise and hence I won't be donating.

You don't have to view any of the pictures if you don't want to

You can still donate, viewing is completely optional

QR - Haven't read any other posts.

But what a nasty post. People are putting themselves on the line here to support a charity. Last year they raised of £4000! It was a fun and spontaneous event. It worked so well they decided to do it again this year.

Give or don't give by why make this unpleasant post.

This is a great idea to raise money for a very worthy cause . Hats off to everyone taking part !
smile.gif

Personally I wont be donating as ( this may sound selfish but idc ) the charity does not directly affect me unlike other charitys that I directly benefit from , such as cicra ( chrones in childhood research) which works to find a cure for my illness , so i would rather give my money to them .

Good luck though

I am a poor pennyless groom with 4 horses to feed, a car to run and rent to pay, that is my reason!

Although I must add that this post has put me right of donating even if I did have the funds, the way it was worded seems kind of pushy

That's a really big shame as the person who posted the thread is nothing to do with the fundraiser as far as I'm aware, and has even said that she herself is not donating!

How very sad indeed that people have been put off supporting a great cause because of this thread when the vast majority of people contributing to the thread have nothing whatsoever to do with Godiva

I do a lot of fundraising and donate money to a charity that is very close to my heart (Help for Heroes), and as such don't usually donate to other charities without having some kind of personal involvement and knowing where the money will be spent.

However, I gave £10 towards last year's Godiva and will almost certainly do the same this year after payday, 'cos I think us lot are awesome and I would like to show support for other members of this forum in their many ventures.
