Why do some people ask for help and advise and when some obviously very caring and experienced people take the time to explain and advise to the best of their knowledge as re the post. people take offence and throw hissy fits. Owning horses is a constant learning experience and no 2 horses are the same. I enjoy this forum and value the FREE advise so if you don't want to hear something you may not like or agree with DON'T post it on here.

I think sometimes people just post anticipating that their opinion/actions will be validated by other forum users, and are surprised when anybody disagrees. There are some people who believe they know it all, or have done it all, even when they patently haven't

I agree, it is hard when you get conflicting advise but I always take it all in, remember that each horse/rider is different and try each one. Sometimes though some people do have a go and it gets peoples backs up, but again that a problem with forums, things can be read in different ways

Glad you seem to agree. Been reading certain posts that make me wonder why the hell did that person ask for opinions, help or advise because when its given they turn bl..dy rude when they don't agree

......

(PMs aren't full at the moment

No secret, just the usual handful of posters and their hangers on spouting off about how experienced yawn yawn they are and how others should appreciate their inflated egos

I do believe that there are some posters who do value themselves a little too much. However i do agree that if you do post for advice you should be prepared for any comments good or bad. I have so far not had any experience personally of anyone "having a go" so have not had the opportunity to throw a "hissy fit" yet

The way i see it if i post for advice and dont like what i hear then i thank everyone for their input and either take it on board or just ignore it!! But thats just me. I do agree "why ask for help" if you are not prepared to read opinions you dont like.

Ok. Have now found the so called 'offending threads', (thanks to those who PM'd!!) and read as much as I could stand.

There would appear to be a personal issue between two forum members that needs to be resolved away from open.
Then there is another issue between one of the above & a second forum user which seems to have escalated somewhat.

However there is NOTHING in anything that I have read which justifies this snide & unpleasant cowardly 'dig'.

Whether or not the member is as they are being portrayed is by the by. Some members obviously think so, but they responded directly to the person on the appropriate thread.

I hope admin see it the same way & delete it.

By the way I should make it quite clear to the people who have answered the question posed in good faith that the above does not in any way apply to them.

There was nothing wrong with what you said. It was said on open on the appropriate thread.
There's nothing underhand about you, or most people on here thank goodness!!!!

.....aswell as the usual "nothing useful or knowledgeable to say" crew.

What a lovely well rounded place HHO is - thankfully we don't all suck up and encourage people to injure themselves. I guess it is the difference between those who care....and those who certainly don't.

Where/What/When?

Oh right, didn't even think about that, I just think a lot of people these days post things and want everyone to bow down and say "wow you are brilliant" and when people try and pass constructive crit they are met with hostility

It is a chnge that has happened since the mean age of HHO dropped a decade - NOT that that is a bad thing, but it is true.

Is it the thread I am thinking of? Or have there been more?

I think the peeps above are referring to that thread - if not then I am lost too LOL!

Using QR!!!

May I make it quite clear that it is NOT the content of the original thread that I find objectionable.
It is the snideyness (is that another new HHO word?) behind this one.
