That's the thing :(

There's a bitch I would love to get my hands on and work with, but I know when I handed her back, her owners are so ineffectual, she'd be back to square one in weeks (the fact that they are going from one to seven dogs in under a year is another story :eek:).

I don't know if 'fault' is the right word, but 99% of dogs with issues, have had the issues caused by us humans, including my own, and I didn't see it until someone pointed it out to me - looks like you have tried to point it out to Rose and unless she can see and take action, I don't know what else you can do?!
 
He will never get anywhere near any of my muts, that i can promise!!! (They don't live here thank god)

He is one chunky boy, he sat on me the other day - i was just sat in the garden and i honestly could not move him off me.

I really would love to send him up to you Cayla :(
 
I would be going down the PTS route too!

I infact would actually refuse to have anything to do with her or the dog until she agree's to do something about it.

As a dog owner I'd be terrified of my dog (or any dog) getting attacked by Diesel. Not many dogs would stand a chance.
As a parent, I actually can't tell you how scary Diesel sounds. Sure, its not his fault, and IMHO re-hab is now too late. A solitary life where a ball gets tossed for an hour in an enclosed yard is no place for a dog.
The fact that he is so unpredicable is the really scary bit. Having his balls off won't help, but having him PTS will. It will save us all from the fright of another dog attack and heaven help us if it was another child attack.
I do not want to see any more on the news about 'dog kills child'.
(This applies to all dogs who are similar in temperment to Diesel and not just Diesel).
Please let there be hope that your MIL sees sense in this, and has a change of opinion in the very near future.

Please read these properly before commenting, he is NOT locked up in a small space 24/7, thats what he was rescued from (there are pics on page 3 i think of AAD) of the yard and it's large. He is out all day, every day without fail, with human and animal interaction, which includes his favourite game of 'ball' - not a crime surely!!

The yard is secure so he won't be getting out. We aren't totally irresponsible!!!!

He is cared for and for the 15 months i have lived here i've never seen him turn nasty, just the usual barking and aggressive behaviour towards the yardb gate and not letting anyone he doesnt like in the yard. He's usually very happy, just territorial and protective.
 
Poor Rocky,, sorry to hear about all of this hun. Nothing to add really, I'd be putting him to sleep but I know what you are up against.

nightmare isn't it!!! Rocky seems to be fine - his usual cakey lively self! Just a bit swollen, cuts are all very clean and dry, no nasty weeping or anything and are healing back together well.

No change on the Diesel front - although i think i'm annoying Rose, i've called her twice since being home from work to ask her to put him in - once so i could go get me washing in and the other as Rocky wanted to go out for a pee .... wonder how long she will take to crack up! I'm not giving in this time!!!!! :mad:

Dog should be pts by now.....

Anyway, glad Rocky is unscathed :) Nothing really to add on the Diesel front - but I'd be going down the PTS route too... but it's not a nice situation for you (or anyone) to be involved in :(
