Why do people have to be so nasty ?

I can sympathise with both sides here - in one respect the dogs should have been under complete control and if that means being on a lead then so be it. On the other the driver had obviously seen the animal so should have reacted accordingly as you would for a deer or fox that ran out. On the subject of having horses under control on the road - I reckon they are so unpredictable that you can never really know whether they'll have an "episode" completely out of the blue or not. So are we all supposed to just stay within the bounds of our property just for those "what if" moments?

How many of us do what we SHOULD do all of the time, not many of us really, yes maybe the dog should have been on a lead, but please the motorist was just being an idiot.

I got the point of the post loud and clear , it was harly rocket science!

Has your 'D' key gone awry? Or is there some national letter shortage I am unaware of?

Shilasdair- No my "D" key hasn't gone walk about , just wanted to know how quick you'd pop up and tell me about it, so well done to you, how quick you are, quite perceptive yourself then.!!

Well, at least they gave you some free punctuation to over-use.
Edited to add - will you be editing your own 'uphauling' grammar or would you like help?

The OP should have had the dog under control! She is endangering the dogs lives as well as any one else who uses the road by leaving the dogs loose. It's irresponsible people like her who give other dog and horse owners a 'bad' name.
However the driver shouldn't have been rude.

shilasdair- nothing is wasted on you, you know that.
maybe you over use your "Wit"- now I'm being kind.

If you've got it, flaunt it.
Don't be kind on my behalf; I definitely won't be kind on yours.

Yes but she had already seen the dogs! and just carried on, thats the difference, if you were riding down that lane and someone drove past you fast on a spooky horse, perhaps there reply should be 'have your horse under control, dont ride on the road' when your horse decides to buck you off, its just about basic courtesy, its not like she was walking on the motorway.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry but I own a spooky horse and I ride it on the road but I take that risk and he is under my care so my responsibility

However, I would like drivers to take due care and attention when passing any horse and rider.

Yes that woman was v.nasty and impatient for continuing to drive when she had already seen the dog but the dogs should have been on a lead to start with - especially the older one who could not get out of the way quickly.

And teabiscuit no I am not perfect (far from it

You can help me with my grammar if it makes you happy, I'm afraid it doesn't matter to me either way, you seem to understand what I am saying.

Can't all be perfect like wot you are oh great one.

no, but I'd like too. I can't belive that the OP posted that she leads two horses and has her two dogs loose whilst walking down a narrow lane and wonders why there is nearly an accident.

Anybody driving down a single track lane should be going slowly, and whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation, I can't understand the mentality of someone who would drive over a dog on purpose. That is awful.
