Why do people have to be so nasty ?

I'd also heard that 'however' should never be the first word in a sentence.
Awwww.....hugs.... I 'heart' you.

It is 'fine' (one of those words like nice that I think should be banned) to start a sentence with however....I hope. (Quickly searches dissertation ....at least five sentences starting with however...)

I have just spent 15 minutes reading this entire post-it has made me chuckle (after the first page of the actual REASON of the post!!) (note the lack of big words for fear of spelling mistakes.....!)
P.S Shilasdair please don't hurt me!!

*double triple checks the post before clicking continue*

*also rushes off to change 'Its' to 'It's' in signature......*

Oh dear - you did indeed spell complacent correctly, but let yourself down further down. 'Would of' is one of my absolute pet hates (and I have a petting zoo full of them.)

[ QUOTE ]
A single track road runs through our yard, to get to the fields you have to walk a little way down it.
I take the dogs to the fields with me to have a run, but leading two horses and two dogs on leads is a pain, so I leave the dogs loose, they are well behaved and just follow me.
On the way back (so no horses) the wind was screaming accross the road and I couldn't hear a thing, until halfway up the road I heard a beep and saw a car right behind me.
I moved onto the grass verge and one dog came with me, the other one is old and stupid and was comming, but a bit slow but the car didn't stop. As I saw the dog dissapearing under the front bumper I jumped in front of the car screaming and signaling her to stop, she did, but only because she thought I was going to smash the bucket I was holding onto her bonnet !
I got the dog and returned to the verge to be treated to some abuse from the driver (which I also couldn't hear because of the wind).
Ok so maybe the dog should have been on a lead, but its not as if she was out of control, and we were on a single track road, with no pavement so as a pedestrian I was entitled to be in the road.
Would it realy have taken up that much time in her busy day to give me a couple of seconds to get safely out of her way ?

[/ QUOTE ]

QUESTION, while your driving your car (phallic status symbol), what could be on your side of the road comeing towards you which you MUST give way to, yes the answer is a pedestrian, the motor vehicle doesn't have a god given right to speed about without due care and attention running over everything in site, so the driver of the car needs to retake her test, stupid bitch.

So the fact that the highway code states (and I quote)
"Do not let a dog out on the road on its own. Keep it on a short lead when walking on the pavement, road or path shared with cyclists" is irrelevant?
How interesting that the rules only apply to some people

being female, does hayleycob actually "drive" or "sit" on her phallic symbol??

She must drive it - thus, sitting on it at the same time. Kapeesh?

The Highway Code must be irrelevant - I mean, it is only a code? (Oh no, wait....legislation....no guidelines....oh, better pay no attention...)

Really, as I previously said, woman was probably just in a bad modd, and idiot or just 'threatening'. You know, when someone irritatingly crosses the road when the lights have just turned green, and you rev your engine? (Ok, I don't, but the OH does, much to my embarrassment.) I do not endorse this 'threatening' attitude, but it is funny seeing people run. Heh. Heh.

LMAO

I have just looked at my dissertation, I use the word However to start a sentence :P

Auntie Shilasdair do you fancy reading it for me :P it is all about Hippotherapy

Hippotherapy is using the horse as a therapy tool
tongue.gif
basically it is riding a horse with a numnah instead of a saddle and a physiotherapist does exercises with the child, yeah it is for this year it is due in on May 8th. It is only a small dissertation, 6000 words and no research it has to be written as an extended essay.. I finished it I'am just proof reading/altering lol then I have have to start on my sociology dissertation :\ the joys of doing a Joint Honors course

Who is to say the woman actually DID see the dog and purposefully drove over it

Dogs should be on the lead in public areas, full stop. Some twat let my dog out of my garden and he ran under a bus and was killed - not my fault, not the dog's fault, however I was so utterly mortified that it had happened to the poor bus driver - she shouldn't have had to have caused my dog's death because my dog shouldn't have been on the road - end of. And someone said something about evasive driving - err no, most accidents involving animals are caused because people swerve and lose control - if you cannot stop safely then sorry, but the animal gets it (unless it is a hippo, then I suggest you do all you can to avoid it

)

That sounds really interesting - sadly mine is on Mussolini and how he was influenced by archaic Rome. Cool cool! Due 21st April, but my tutor is going on holiday for a month, so needs to be done by Friday....6000 words, only another 4000 to go!

Eugh....done soon though! I cannot wait! (I am doing a MA afterwards though...)

Shilasdair, you do make me laugh. The forum would be a quieter place without you.

In repsonse to original post, I'm sorry but you are the one who is in the wrong. If your dogs are not fully in your control while you have them out they should be on a lead. Especially if there is no footpath. A dog off the lead whilst on a road should at least be walking to heel so there is no danger of them wandering into the path of a car.

If it is really do difficult to lead the 2 horses and dogs altogether I suggest you leave the dogs in the yard until you can go and get them on their own.

Hope doggie is ok after it's drama it caused!
