I have read some of her posts, not all I confess, but it seems a reasonable proportion of her posts are reasonable and yet she gets knocked down, pulled up on her spelling, and so on. Some of the comments towards her are really quite nasty and unecessary. If you don't like her, why acknowledge the post?

Can someone enlighten me as to why there is such a feeling of nastiness towards her.

At the moment I am questioning whether I still want to be part of this forum.

Cos some of her posts are totally idiotic!

But ye you are right, no need for people to be outright rude!!

There was a post on this the other day, I think it was started by little_flea??

Some people have good reason to be annoyed, and have explained themselves already on that post.

:)

well.. i dont post on them purley because it ends up 10 pages long and i get 50 emails saying people have replied on the post when they havnt even replied to me, but thats a whole other story! she came on her asking for advice, alot of advice was given and she prety much ignored it all and did her own thing. so what was the point in asking? but as she was getting about 60 odd replies she kept posting threads that always got a heated response. i think its just a case of attention seeking on the forum but i think beating her up about her spelling is abit harsh as for all we know she could be dyslexic.

But bless her she seems to keep coming back for more. But you are right, she does get pulled up for her spelling, perhaps she just wants to talk to someone??:):)

Regarding the spelling its not just BSJAShowjumper123. Some people on this forum seem to be dreadful snobs where literacy is concerned.

Perhaps GCSE English should be an entry requirement for joining.

I know people on other forums who no longer come on here because they were made to feel so inadequate.

Are they worse horse owners or people because they cant spell? I doubt it.

i dont comment on these posts as they all end up being bitchy, shes only young and clearly still has a lot of learning to do but so has a lot of poeple on this site, so what if her grammer isnt up to much neither is mine, but not a reason to get all the comments she does, no wonder she only posts then dosent keep replying i wouldnt either shes probably too scared of getting her head bit off,

Personally?

Ive never "jumped" on her... But I cannot be bothered to reply to her posts because they are very badly written, I struggle to understand what the majority of her posts are about, and because when I do understand what she has "written" they are usually very silly/meaningless posts.

maybe she just genuinly cant spell (abit like me :P)
my friend who is the same age as me has horrific spelling but she just cant spell, not much she can do about it, you just have to work out what she says, and everyone still manages to gather what she saying so there shouldnt be a problem.

Everyone who uses a forum should be capable of being coherent, spell to a decent standard and be able to form a sentence/paragraph/essay. I say this because anyone using a forum should be over 14 at the very least, and therefore will have had an education. It is only polite to write things in a coherent way, for those that will be reading. Coherent posts lead to coherent replies. Everyone has access to a spellcheck facility, and it is only pure laziness that stops people from using one.

I don't think I have ever commented on her posts as I can tell they get heated.

I just find it annoying when people post pointless things as it diverts attention from those that really want advice as they get bumped down the list.

As above, not quite sure what there is to be jealous of?

of what exactly?

A lot of the 'nasty' comments directed her way seem to be regarding her parents 'buying her everything' and not having to buy her own things/work hard etcetc. No doubt said posters had to save up every lump of coal they could to earn their first gerbil

Well said Rockysmum.

My husband is dyslexic and spells worse than her! I can easily understand the posts! Its not rocket science really. Get over it.

I think people are jealous of the attention she gets, although I don't for the life of me understand why. Quite a lot ofg the respondants come across as numpties too - its like being back at a bitchy girls school!

Some people get upset as they want her to do as they do, as they seem to think they are instructors.

I think she's a lonely naive kid,and some of the people that attack her have no manners at all. Its a case of pot calling the kettle quite often. Behind a fake name people say things they wouldn't or shouldn't in real life.

If you don't like her posts don't read them. Surely theres enough else to read on here???

I have just re-read several of her posts and they seem quite coherent and they are perfectly understandable. She is no worse than hundreds of others on here, at times, including me, I am sure.

In a world of free speech and all that, why should anyone be excluded because they have a problem putting down in writing what they are trying to say. I dribble on at times, but I am no less worthy than anyone of saying (or trying to say) my piece.

her grammar doesn't bother me my spelling is rubbish however i have a spell check on my pc! its the pointless posts shes obviously a troll and wanting attention OK we do give it to her i will admit

Not her age im against dont care if you 15 or 55 dont troll a forum where people are looking for advice unless its a genuine post!

i dont get why people have such a big thing about spelling, you all still manage to reply to her posts so you must have understood what she was saying? is it really that important, and like i said, maybe she just really cant spell so maybe rather than slating her, correct her in a nice manner that way she will learn the correct way to spell things!

Anyone who thinks her posts are unreadable clearly cant read very well lol They are not that bad - maybe she cant type very well, or is very young? I think people are all too quick to judge and pass sentence on here sometimes - her posts are not that bad

In your cozy world this might be true. Unfortunately its not true of everyone. I am responsible for the education of 250 18 to 21 year old who are not so lucky. 80% of them do not have Literacy skills anywhere near Level 2, which is the level the government suggests is necessary to be employable.

Spellcheck only works if you get somewhere near the correct spelling, it does not read minds.

very true, i have to spell check for a lad with severe dyslexia because the spellcheck can't work out what hes put its that bad, trying to work it out myself is a task sometimes.

Well whether you love her or don't love her, she certainly fascinates everyone and keeps everyone entertained - just what we need while the football is on......just had a look at her page and her profile has had 1060 visits!

her posts are not that bad she might just want encouragement in what shes doing with her horse am sure everyone likes to hear that from time to time,

Personally, I find reading her posts an education. Its like proof reading. Perhaps some members could demonstrate a little patience & maybe have an eye test - they're free if you are over 60.
