Why do people tie up outside

Unless its horrid weather, i tie up outside. Just because if its sunny then my horse can get the sun on his back and also i have more light and more room and alot safer for the tack! A few people i know have had saddles wrecked from scraping them when leading a horse out of the stable.
Also, the dust! hate it!
 
I do everything outside of the Stable unless the weather is awful (only happened twice this winter).

My reason is probably quite a lazy one, I like to put my horses in to a nice clean, tidy bed, if I bring them in to groom or tack up it would mean I would have to sort his bed out again. Plus the light is better outside.

I am on a private yard so I guess that makes things easier as I don't get in any ones way :)
 
I tie mine up outside only after riding as he's such a nosy bugger when he's in his stable he stands right up against the door to see out and I can't move around the front of him very easily so its easier to have him outside then he can have a proper nose! :)

Heard this too and it makes perfect sense.

I tend to most things outside the stable unless it is peeing it down - I tend to use a spare stable if it is raining rather than her own.
Outside also give you much more room. Plus in the summer I tie her to the yard fence so she can have a good nose at everything going on.

I find that difficult horses (ie those that bite and kick ) are easier to control if they are not in their own territory. As we have a couple of those on the yard it's a thing i do as habit

I tie up outside for mucking out, grooming and tacking up my share pony and Matrix. Matrix is generally much easier when he's not in his stable.
I used to do everything apart from muck out with Cloud in her stable as her stable was big, and she had a thing about being tied up for quite some time. She used to pull back, fret and stamp.
She doesnt do that anymore, but unless I'm washing her I leave her in her stable.
 
I tie up for everything outside.

The yard is an American barn set up though so outside the stable is still inside :)

More room, less dust, don't have to keep opening/shutting the stable door to get tack, grooming kit, boots etc.

When we had the horses at home and had planned and built the yard ourselves, we specifically had the yard made very wide so there was plenty of room to tie up without getting in the way- so maybe if you can't it is down to bad yard planning ;)
 
I actually don't tie up outside as I can just park him with his headcollar on. Admitidly (sp) a small yard, so not much going on unless you count lambing sheep and one other livery, I like to muck out, groom, tack up etc, outside of his personal space.
