Why lie?!

The thing that really gets my goat is the whole;

“my horse is nuts, completely crazy, I am so brave riding him” yadda yadda yadda

It seems the more badly behaved and more issues your horse has the better more experienced rider you are?

Am I unique in feeling immensely proud of the fact that my just 5 year old, behaves perfectly and is a complete humpty dumpty to handle and ride? Frankly I would be mortified if he acted like a complete arse.

Personally I think a well behaved, sensible relaxed horse is a real compliment to the owner (and I am not getting at anyone who has a hot headed horse just those who seem to revel in it).

My YO’s favourite saying is “look at how your horse is behaving, now look in the mirror”

OK Middle aged rant over now!

Yes exactly!!! All i want is a well behaved, happy secure well schooled horse! I don't have one yet,I but that's because i am ****!!! Not because she is so crazy and wild no one can tame her.. lol .. Yet when she does go well (which is my life aim) I will be so proud and happy. When someone gets on her, she doesn't give them a nice ride at all... That's not something to brag about, that's embarrassing!!

Really hate it when people make out there horses are so much to handle, I mean that's nothing to be impressed by, not by my books anyway.

When I first bought my horse, I was on a livery yard. I bought a measuring stick and took it up one day. Most of the others asked me to measure their horses. Without fail, every single person thought that their horse was 2" bigger than it actually was! Of course they told me the measuring stick was faulty. Another girl bought a really expensive one - and guess what - the horses were still 2" smaller than they thought!

PS.
I enter the open at our local RC and there are usually only two others besides myself that dare go in it!! Same goes for dressage - I've been placed in elementary but never in prelim as its full of pot hunters!! LOL!
That probably makes me sound like a pot hunter - but I just push myself, and realise that prelim stands for preliminary - which means its for horses in the early stages of their training (hence why it comes BEFORE novice classes!) not a 15 year old horse that the last rider did medium with!! (Sorry - just my personal bug!)
